I am from the Great Pacific Northwest born and raised been in Montgomery for 3 years now and I have yet to have a good home cooking besides what my family cooks. So i asked a coworker about Davis Cafe and she gave so great...reviews. So I decided to try there breakfast and I tell you I thought my mamma was back in the kitchen cooking. Yes at First I was a little on sure about the food just because of the outside and inside appearance, but i learned along time ago them whole in the walls be the best places to eat. I highly recommend Davis cafe.More
We sought out the cafe having read the review in the Lonely Planet book. Don’t be put off by the exterior/interior. It was welcoming and great to try local food at a reasonable price. Limited menu but freshly cooked and better than the chain eating...places we’d frequented whilst on our holidayMore
I grew up in Georgia but now in the Midwest for over 30 yrs; this was a satisfying, tasty and welcome spot. The service was lousy and it was pretty grimy but it is what I expected and I'd gladly go back. The place was...jamming on a weekday lunch hour with people waiting to sit and lots of take out ordersMore
The food was just like going to my grandmother's house. Awesome, simple southern comfort food at it's best! The menu is simple and changes daily. We had the fried chicken and vegetable plate. Perfectly seasoned and very tasty.
Very clean, simple decor, and family friendly,...welcoming atmosphere.More
What a delight to find dressing BETTER than my mother's!! Did not think that could be done! All vegetables were fresh, cooked with that "southern flavor". Service was excellent!! Clean, friendly and very affordable.
A simple menu with great sides. Extremely well made & great portions. We had fried chicken and country fried steak. The sides made the meal. I had butter peas( fresh) & cabbage- delicious! The other sides were rutabagas & potato salad- just fabulous. I highly...recommend but not for anyone who wants fine dining. Simple space nothing fancy.More
