Taylor, waitress at the Zelda Road location in Montgomery, AL was super nice and greeted us with a smile. She stated it was her second day on the job, and we were impressed! She was very attentive and provided great customer service. She is definitely...an asset. We are appreciative of her willingness to go above and beyond!More

Food was great - and ambience as well. Enjoyed the salmon. We were a party of six. Five of six were excellent and one was very good. If we go back to Montgomery we’d return to this little gem.

I was skeptical at first to order but I decided to do so after reading the reviews. The lobster & shrimp Mac did not disappoint.

Went here twice. Had a decent menu. First night ordered a mixed drink during Happy Hour. Not sure there was any alcohol in it. Very disappointing. You might want to stick to a drink that can't be watered down. Was a little difficult to find...as it's tucked towards the back but that's likely a function of the app we used to find it.More

We read the menu online and had high hopes for dinner. The salmon was great. The burger was overcooked and like leather. The strip steak was tough, not at all tender. We told the waiter about the steak and he said, "Yeah, I can tell...it's not a good cut." That's all that he said or did. He came back when he delivered the bill and said the chef would give us a free dessert but then came back again and said the two desserts we were interested in were gone. It was 5:45 and well ahead of the dinner rush. This place has potential but needs some better cooks and much better customer service. Expensive price to pay for mediocre food and poor customer service.More

Order the sweet potato fries and die a happy human being!! These were the best sweet potato fries we've ever had! We also ordered the Cowboy Burger, which was very flavorful as well.

During our week in Alabama, the meal we ate at Cork and Cleaver was the unexpectedly the best. The staff were friendly and personable. We were able to eat outside and - although it faces a parking lot -the outdoor venue was comfortable and welcoming....The shrimp and grits were the best we have ever tasted, full of flavor and spices. The pork belly biscuits gave us a new gauge of "light" biscuits, never have we had such light and fluffy biscuits. Now we know why 'light' is favored. The fried green tomatoes had a superb crawfish remoulade that complemented the tomatoes. The drinks were excellent. Price for quality the restaurant deserves the highest rating we can give. If we lived here, this would be our regular restaurant. Give it a try. We ate outside so we were not affected. Indoors, it seemed the exhaust fan was on low.More

Typical gastropub fare. Sandwiches, burgers, some meat/fish dishes like salmon and steak. Also some pasta dishes. I had the portobello grilled cheese and fries. The fries were light—I think they may have been prepared with an air fryer. The sandwich was very heavy—maybe too much...butter. Flavors were good, however. Crisp cocktails—I had the tequila mockingbird and the strawberry basil lemonade. Extremely refreshing and light. Extensive wine and beer list. Jordan was my server and did a great job. Indoor and outdoor seating. I had a total of four cocktails and my meal and it wasn’t even 50 dollars before tip. Would try again.More

My spouse and I had two delicious meals, Shrimp and Grits, and Lamb Chops. The Shrimp and Grits had a mild Creole sauce that perfectly complemented the shrimp and sausage. The Lamb Chops were quite tender and were served with browned potatoes and brussels sprouts....We were told that the lamb chops had been marinated in yogurt to give them extra flavor. The service was excellent, even though the restaurant was busy. We will be back.More

We enjoyed brunch at The Cork and Cleaver. It was a beautiful day to sit outside and the umbrellas provided shade. Victoria was a great server with a great attitude. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. We had the fried green tomatoes as a...shared appetizer, then shrimp and grits and the appetizer crab cakes as our meal. We look forward to another meal at the Cork and Cleaver.More

We truly lucked out when we selected this place. The word “gastropub” was the tip-off that it had potential. We snagged an outside table next to an herb garden with one of the largest rosemary plants I’ve ever seen grown in the US. Our server,...Mason, was spot on with service. Our meals were delicious. I recommend the shrimp and grits, which far exceeded my expectations. The most flavorful grits with the best texture were topped with a Cajun cream, sausage, and shrimp. Heaven in a bowl! Well worth a stop.More

I kept seeing this restaurant on TikTok as a recommendation and decided to stop in. They were about to close but still served us. I HAD to try the fried green tomatoes. Although the look was less than appeasing...they were AMAZING!!! They were out of...the bacon jam for the chicken sandwich so I didn't get the full effect BUT it was good nonetheless. The brioche bun and the seasoning on the chicken made it worth it.More

We sat at bar ordered a bottle love noir pinot noir, very good. I had chicken Alfredo definitely was homemade sauce and very good. My wife had the sunrise burger and said it was awesome. All the staff would offer service without asking. Very uncommon...in Montgomery. They had a very good family feel.More

We dined here after my daughter’s college graduation. Excellent food and service. They were short staffed but it didn’t really feel like it. Kept water coming and food did not take long at all. Steak and salmon were great. Would recommend, small and quaint place...to dine.More
