We truly lucked out when we selected this place. The word “gastropub” was the tip-off that it had potential. We snagged an outside table next to an herb garden with one of the largest rosemary plants I’ve ever seen grown in the US. Our server,...Mason, was spot on with service. Our meals were delicious. I recommend the shrimp and grits, which far exceeded my expectations. The most flavorful grits with the best texture were topped with a Cajun cream, sausage, and shrimp. Heaven in a bowl! Well worth a stop.More

I kept seeing this restaurant on TikTok as a recommendation and decided to stop in. They were about to close but still served us. I HAD to try the fried green tomatoes. Although the look was less than appeasing...they were AMAZING!!! They were out of...the bacon jam for the chicken sandwich so I didn't get the full effect BUT it was good nonetheless. The brioche bun and the seasoning on the chicken made it worth it.More

We sat at bar ordered a bottle love noir pinot noir, very good. I had chicken Alfredo definitely was homemade sauce and very good. My wife had the sunrise burger and said it was awesome. All the staff would offer service without asking. Very uncommon...in Montgomery. They had a very good family feel.More

The Cork & Cleaver is our go-to brunch restaurant. The staff are always welcoming, the bar pours a generous drink and all the menu options are great!

We dined here after my daughter’s college graduation. Excellent food and service. They were short staffed but it didn’t really feel like it. Kept water coming and food did not take long at all. Steak and salmon were great. Would recommend, small and quaint place...to dine.More

This restaurant doesn't seem capable of handling modest/large groups of people. We had reservations for 10 (made a week and a half before) for 6pm. Apparently they also had a large group of 20-24 at the same time. Our drink/appetizer orders were taken and we...enjoyed fried green tomatoes and pork biscuits along with cocktails, which we enjoyed. Then..we waited..and waited..our waitress kept coming over and saying that our food would be ''right up" at least 3 times. (There were a couple small tables also there who came after us who did get their food.) Finally after 2 HOURS of waiting we were told that they were going to "start our order now." THEY HADN'T EVEN STARTED OUR FOOD. They apologized and discounted our appetizers and drinks, and we left and went elsewhere. Sorry to see restaurants poorly run like this-they had a decent menu that we were all excited about enjoying. If the kitchen can't handle what is essentially a busy Saturday night over the course of the 2 hours we were there, then they won't be in business for long.More

My wife and I were looking for a gastropub off I65 N while traveling back to NE MS from Florida. We were looking for something with vegetarian options and found Cork and Cleaver on line and were very thankful we did. We were greeted promptly...and sat at the bar where we were once again pleasantly greeted by our bartender and server Hunter. He expertly answered our questions and gave us very personable service while keeping up with the floor drink orders. My wife and I both enjoyed a glass of wine from their adequate menu and our food was most impressive. She enjoyed a collection of sides-risotto with mushrooms, grilled green beans, roasted Brussel sprouts, and sweet potato fries- all of which were excellent. I had the kale and avocado salad with pacific salmon which was amazing. The lemon vinaigrette dressing was very good and the salmon was outstanding and perfectly cooked. Or experience far exceeded our expectations. We look forward to stopping our next time through.More

The waiter are rude and sassy. They never come by and check on you. And on top of all that your food will take forever and isn’t even that good. Definitely not worth the price tag

I was expecting something a little more upscale. The prices were a little high for the food received.

Stopped by on a Friday night after work. Ate outside. Started with the fish tacos and fried oysters...very good. Note, the menu has changed; the oysters are no longer offered but this was just a special night for them. Appetizers are half price before 6pm....The chicken breast was good and the salmon was very good.More

A colleague and I recently visited The Cork & Cleaver on a Sunday evening, after flying in for Monday morning meetings. Although tucked into a suburban strip mall, that is quickly forgotten when you enter. The restaurant is relatively small, quaint, and clean with very...attentive service. You can't go wrong with a burger and beer, or any of their other menu selections paired with a nice glass of wine. Good for families with older children, couples, or small groups.More

Love this place! Great food and good drinks, I went here almost every week for six weeks and was only let down once. Not for the quality of food but it took them almost one hour to get our lunch out to us, we asked...to get it to go and then it took almost another 15 minutes to box it up. The rest of the times I went here, the food was amazing and service very good. Brunch with bottomless mimosas is a perfect way to start off a Sunday or really any other day. Fish tacos are perfect!!More

There were 10 of us for brunch and the service was fast and pretty good, with things forgotten here and there. The food was excellent and everybody enjoyed their various choices from the varied menu. My Eggs Benedict was great. The hash potatoes were pretty...bland and could have done with something more to them. Apart from that it was a great experience and I’d recommend it for brunch.More

Six family members went to dinner there last night...and for the most part was very acceptable. Royal Red shrimp was the special for evening, daughter and I ordered19.00 for four shrimp that by the time the heads and other inedible parts extracted, there was only...one small bite per shrimp-- certainly not enough for price. We did both order the beet (10.00) salad and was excellent, however, the shrimp was disappointing. No complaints about service or rest of food..just thought the evening special should have been superior.More
