Had dinner at Wintzell's while staying overnight in downtown Mobile. Good seafood, friendly service and happy hour prices. Enjoyed the Red Fish and Oysters in different varieties.

Our lunch experience at Wintzell's started off with a poor greeting from hostesses who didn't even crack a smile and seated our 4 adults and a toddler at a 4 top with no room for a high chair. Thankfully our waiter, Richard, was excellent--he immediately moved us to a bigger table and he was friendly, took our orders promptly, made... More

By far the best restaurant I have ever eaten at. I go here every Friday night for the past several months. There is nothing about this place I can find wrong. The staff are awesome. The food fantastic. The atmosphere is joyful and relaxing. The oysters and gumbo are my favorite.

We recently visited this location. The food is always good and a great variety for an entire family. Always busy but the staff is efficient. They know what consumers like and work hard to ensure your treated promptly even when the crowd is sizeable. Glad to eat at their various locations and the gumbo is always first class.

Unique old restaurant. Strong cheesy odor surprised me when we entered but it's because they coat their fresh, homemade potato chips in dusty Parmesan. Our server was busy but attentive and helpful. Food came out fast. Prices were a bit high for us so we ordered fried shrimp with fries and fish tacos. We had a good meal. Cajun food... More

Started in the bar and all was nice but a little pricey... $12 for a grey goose White Russian. Then went to the group wedding buffet. Food was great. Fried shrimp, mac and cheese, and other was excellent. Service was slow for drinks etc. Would return for a meal as the food was very good.

I have eaten there a couple of times and what I have ordered is delicious. The people I was with thought their food was great also.

If you love Oysters then Wintzell's should be your first choice. It is an institution in Mobile for probably 70 years. The history is in the atmosphere and all over the walls and the long bar. The seafood is delicious as well as the fried pickles and many other delicious choices on the menu. Very casual and a great place... More

This was our first night in Mobile and we were looking forward to eating here. The service was good but the food was disappointing. It was good but average seafood and we expected more from Wintzell's. Had a second meal planned there and made other plans.

We had flavorless fried food here. The rave reviews disappointed us. It is a cute decor. But drinks were weak and food was very bland. Super disappointed as we were debating going to another oyster house.
