We eat here several times a month and almost always have great food and service. The salmon, signature pasta, and steaks are great. The sweet potato casserole is like a desert. Veggies have been very good also.

I travel extensively and have for the last 40 years. In all that time I have rarely encountered a lousier Steak or worse service than at this place. I like to try independants when I can but this was a HUGH MISTAKE!!!!

Meh. I’d suggest a hard pass on this place. Low quality steak. My bone in New York was so grissly and difficult to eat. Baked potato was COLD. Marginal at best. Priced too high for the quality. We won’t be returning.

Rolls were still frozen in the middle. Potato cheese soup was AWFUL. I’m not sure if that’s how it’s usually made or something was terribly wrong. Will not return.

I normally like Briquettes. On Friday January 8, 2021 I started calling at 4:30 to place an order. At 5:10 I started cooking for myself. Phone rang for a while then went busy. This happened twice.

Stopped in for dinner while visiting family in the area & Briquettes exceeded our expectations. The drinks were well poured, our steaks cooked perfectly & quality beef, the sides were all delicious. One of the best places in Mobile to get a restaurant bought steak. I’ve never had a bad meal here. It isn’t the largest place and it is quite popular so sometimes the wait can be a little long. 3/7/20 - ordered porterhouse steak, and grilled chicken. Both were very large portions and delicious. Service was timely and courteous. A very pleasant experience.

My father ordered the shaved prime rib sandwich with a side salad, and I order the ribs with onion rings and grilled zucchini. He was extremely satisfied with his sandwich. As for my lunch, I definitely got my money's worth as mine cost $14. I...got a half rack of baby back ribs which had 8 bones, much more than I was expecting for a lunch portion. They came to the table uncut, but I could pull them apart very easily with my fingers. They had a very good flavor, and I didn't even use the extra sauce that I was served. Best steak in Mobile. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and had a great grilled taste. My husband had the ribeye and he said is was excellent.

Sat at the bar for an early dinner. Elizabeth the bartender provided excellent service. I had a ribeye with garlic mashed potatoes and grilled zucchini. The steak was a perfect medium rare, and the flavor of the fire was prominent but not too intense. The...vegetables were perfectly done, and had a little Parmesan sprinkled on for some extra flavor. The potatoes were fine but not impressive. I was hungry, so I also got the apple brown betty dessert. It came out on a dinner-sized plate - it was huge! I got about halfway through it before I was full, but it tasted so good that I plowed through the whole thing. Guilt is temporary; flavor memories last forever. None of the entrees on the menu feature steak, but this is a steakhouse so come here for the meat! This place is a good choice and I am pleased that the only dinner I had in Mobile was here.More
