The buffet was very consistent, It was usually great. In the last couple of years they begin to change the foods that they've carried for 30+ years and things starting going down hill from there. If it ain't broke, why fix it. The buffet has...been taken down now and you have to order from a menu. The draw of fantail was always the all u can eat buffet and now history has been erased. This was always my family and friends favorite place to eat several times a year and now it's just a regular restaurant. You could go to the catfish house for this type setting. Please go back to what worked, make people happy again and bring the buffet back. SadMore

Went back after their remodel. No more buffet :-(. Menu only, and the prices are high for the food you get. Ordered Fish and Chips, Cheese Grits, and Seafood Gumbo. Fish and Chips - A little too much breading on fish, chips (fries) were good...though. Cheese Grits - Cheddar cheese sprinkled on top of regular grits. Really? Gumbo - My biggest complaint. The menu said it was traditional gumbo, topped with some white rice. What I got was a seafood hash / shrimp etouffee. It was rice mixed with some finely chopped shrimp and fish and tomatoes. No okra. Gumbo is supposed to be a liquid. The bowl was $7, and was the size of a small cereal bowl. Not worth the cost. My wife got shrimp, but it was plain boiled shrimp with the flavor sprinkled on the shell, so when it was peeled? Plain boiled shrimp, flavored by whatever came off your fingers. Service was excellent, so I won't give an overall terrible rating. I usually don't give bad reviews, but I was disappointed that this is what Fantail has become.More

Food is delicious, staff if friendly. I would rate 5 stars but they took away the buffet. The prices are crazy. The buffet cost less than an oyster meal. With the buffet you can get as much of anything as you want. Now you can...get a couple of things for a bigger price. We came here all the time, but we will never go back unless they bring back the buffet.More

If you like a lot of fried food, this place will be for you. Prices are reasonable for what you get.

Went here on a recommendation and was pleasantly surprised. Seating was fast and attentive. Read a prior review from around 10 days ago saying the food wasn’t very good and that couldn’t be more false for my trip. Enjoyed the crab cakes, lobster crab bisque,...fish, and many other things. All were cooked excellently and flavored well. Also enjoyed the little cheesecake cubes, my waitress recommended the raspberry one especially and it was delicious. Staff was very attentive and extremely friendly.More

Ate there last night June 15, 2019 and was disapointed for the first time im MANY years of eating there. The recipes have changed. Its not the same. Everything was just "ok" and to have driven one hour to get there makes me reconsider going...that far again. Sorry, you are no longer my favorite seafood place to eat.More

We were passing through town late on a Saturday night and decided to stop for dinner. There was no waiting in line and we were seated right away. The waitress was very attentive to our group. The buffet was hot and fresh and the food...was always stocked. There is something on the buffet for everyone. My daughters are very picky eaters and they enjoyed this stop. We really enjoyed eating here and will be back soon.More

Great food. Worth the price. Good service. Plenty to choose from on the bar. Always fresh and hot. The fried crab is the best.

This is a great all you can eat seafood buffet. They get crowded at peak times but they are worth the wait. Take your entire family and enjoy their all you can eat crab legs. Location just off 65 on hwy 14.

We recently ate here on a trip to Montgomery. Great food. Buffet was fresh and hot. Good selection. The service was excellent. Don’t miss out on the gumbo.
