This is one of the best place to sample Melaka Asam Pedas. It is not far from Jonker Street. Most of the times it's a challenge to get a table for 4 or more. They are open for lunch and dinner but one shop opens for lunch and the bigger one just opposite opens for dinner.

Decent supper place in Melacca. A must try is the awesome clay pot stingray, although the stingray was not the best ever the gravy was interesting and super yummy.

Once we found a seat, our orders were taken quite promptly. We decided to ditch the asam pedas as it did not suit our tastebuds. We ordered satay instead, with drinks for 4 people. The drinks came about 15 minutes later, and were below average. Where we sat, we could see the satay man, preparing and grilling the satay. We... More

During my university time, this place is a must go every week. The beef asam pedas is so addictive that i need to eat this almost every week. The place usually pack with customers, be it malays, chinese, indians or foreigners! The foods are cheap too.

I think the taste is not as good as before. Maybe it's just me. I don't know. With the price they charge, I think the food should be better.

If life is is not colourful without spiciness, it is hell. This is my food heaven where taste dances in harmony with spiciness. A tang of saltiness from salted egg. Sourness of asam encircles the dish. A combination of all that is served and placed in the mouth is the apex of harmony. A heaven on earth :)

Open during daytime when most of asam pedas restaurant only open in the evening. The gravy is ok for a mild spicy food lover.

I'm not a asam pedas fans. Never like sour food. But my friend is very into this. We went because of her, she insisted this is the best asam pedas ever. With the fish in the asam soup, she can eat 2 big bowl of rice. This is way to much for a petite small eater. I teased her that... More
