We have been to Jesse's a few times and have had great experiences in the past. Not so much this time. We made reservations about two weeks ago for a special birthday dinner; and when the time came for us to be seated, they put...us in a table at the bar instead of the restaurant itself. It was loud and not special at all; this is where they seat people without reservations; so what was the point in making a reservation at all. We had a member of our party with celiac disease, and when we asked our server, Sean, about whether a specific dish had wheat in it, he literally told us, "I only get paid $4 an hour, and that is not enough to know about gluten." That kind of glib reaction to a medical condition set a bad tone for the rest of our dinner. Next time we will just ask the chef to come out, bc I am sure he would have had a much more gracious reaction. The appetizers we had were good; the oysters Jesse and mussels were especially good. The salads were great as well-- the beet salad and the mixed green house salad. Two in our party ordered seafood and were very pleased. Two ordered steaks. The waiter brought out a fried dish to the person who could not have wheat; absolutely not what he had ordered. He had ordered a steak. So, we had to wait while it was prepared and it arrived well after everyone else's meal. The ribeye when it arrived was not cooked well and seemed to be an inferior cut that one would expect from such a lauded establishment. Dessert was not worth mentioning.More

First of all this place has a lot of charm being in a historic building. It definitely gets better from there. We called and made a reservation and we’re lucky enough to get in. We had a fantastic waiter, Jack. He did a fantastic job...suggesting and explaining the menu. He was upbeat and friendly as well. We had the New Orleans BBQ shrimp which should be mandatory to try bc it is phenomenal! We had a petite Delmonico steak and a Prime Grade ribeye, both of which were cooked perfectly. We added bone marrow butter to top the steak off which was delicious as well. This definitely ranks up there with our favorite meals of a lifetime! Loved it! My hubby is a competition steak Judd he and is rarely impressed, but he definitely was here! It’s worth the drive from the beach, just go. You’ll thank me later!More

The service on May 2 was simply terrible. While the waitress was very, very knowledgeable and pleasant, the speed at which she attended the tables was slow and it seemingly took forever to be served our meals. The taste of the food was only average....I don't know what the problems were this time, we were here a year ago and had a much better experience and that is why we came back. I do not anticipate coming again.More

If you are hungry for steak in seafood country, Jesses is a good choice. They have a good selection of steaks and a variety of other items. Our steaks were cooked just right and the sides were delicious. I highly recommend the crab dip as...an appetizer. However, the outdoor dining experience was just not good. It is a lovely spot, though close to the road. We were the first table seated outdoors on a Tuesday. It was a warm evening and the couple seated next to us after about 30 minutes asked that a very large standing fan be turned “up”. It was on a low setting. I was seated behind the fan with the motor right above my head. It was obnoxious. I asked the waiter if he could turn it down but he declined saying the couple was too warm. I spent the rest of our leisurely dinner asking our party to repeat things. Also, at our table there was an occasional whiff of sewer odor. So. Not a “fan” of their patio space and disappointed in how they handled my discomfort. Sit inside.More

It was our 45th wedding anniversary and we celebrated at Jesses. We got the Filets and they were cooked to perfection. Marshall was our waiter and so knowledgeable about the menu. He is THE PERFECT waiter. If I ever get back to Jesses, I will...ask for him. They also gave us a complimentary dessert.More

What an amazing welcoming staff you have! What an amazing knowledgeable staff you have!! What an AMAZING dinner I had!! I had the Mahi. Hubby had the red snapper. We both were in tastebud heaven. I mean honestly how can you make a parsnip and...a turnip taste perfect with fish? I don't know either yet I experienced it this very evening! YUM. Husband said his best meal hands down. He offered me multiple bites yet I didn't want to mess with the pleasure going on in my mouth. Beet and turnip salad excellent. Caesar for hubby, said it was great. Raw oysters, we love that you serve with vinegar, you don't see that much & it works so well. We love it. We also met some of the friendliest locals with so much love and concern for their slice of heaven. We had an excellent meal, enjoyed the locals, watched a wedding party, after party continue on with their beautiful evening... How in Gods name would anyone fuss about coming here? Shawn our server was spot on! Decor is taste full, food was AMAZING. Best old fashion bourbon in a while. Hands down best shrimp and grits ever. Menu has a something for everyone. A definite go back to place!!

Jesses is just great. Welcoming host. High quality food. Excellent service. The warmup was clam chowder. Some of the best I've ever had. For the entree I ordered a filet and it was cooked to perfection along with gouda grits as the side. Creme brûlée...for dessert. Everything was on point so make it a point to get to Jesses.More

Put this restaurant on your list if your in the Gulf Shores area. It's located in the quaint town of Magnolia Springs, about a 30 minute drive that's well worth it. Their menu features steaks and seafood and changes frequently. Don't miss the fried green...tomatoes appetizer....the best I've ever had!! And the good news is they're opening a second location this spring in Ft. Morgan. We drove by it on the way home and it looks amazing....right on the water near Martinique on the Gulf and the Beach Club Resort. Bon Appétit!!More

The atmosphere is quaint and nestled in a picturesque little community. The service was outstanding from the front to the back of the restaurant. Our food was delicious! Our steak was cooked perfectly and the Gouda Grits paired wonderfully! Jennie L is a fantastic server!

This is a great place to go the people that work here are very friendly I hope to come again. The server we got was Jennie and she really made my day. Make sure to make a reservation.
