We were greeted and seated right away. Very friendly staff . Since we were new the server explained their menu to us. They took our order and brought out a small basket of garlic bread. Be prepared to wait 45 minutes for your pizza. They do tell you this on the menu. When the pizza arrived the sauce was extremely... More

Every time I come to Hoover for work, I make a stop here. The staff is very friendly, and the deep dish pizza is where it's at. I have never had a bad pizza from Tortugas, and I plan to keep going back every time I'm in town.

Okay, yes the pizza is delicious, we've tried all of the types. Their lasagna is great, nice portion and I always have to have the Antipasto salad. The small is large enough to share. The best part of this restaurant is the staff, service is EXCELLENT! I love how the owners walk around and know and recognize the customers. It's... More

This pizza is just like the best of Chicago's deep dish. They have other crusts but their deep dish is amazing. They use fresh ingredients and make the crust so it doesn't get any better. Almost makes me feel like I'm eating healthy:) Ha!

This is a pie like no other I have ever had. The stuffed pizza was loaded with flavor, substance, and a pleasing texture that made me crave more. The sauce was a little "watery" but so fresh and flavorful. The thing weighted a ton! 2 pieces max at a time.

After reading and hearing reviews on this place I decided to try it. I got the Beachum specialty pizza. There was far to much cheese and not enough meat. The taste was bland for a pizza that had pepperoni, green pepper, bacon, onion and jalapeno. They brought out buttered garlic bread balls with a cup of marinara sauce as a... More

I met up with my nephew when I was stopping overnight at a near by Microtel in 2015 when I was on the Hot Rod Power Tour. I had planned on doing the same this year when I had an overnight stop in Hoover. Unfortunately they are closed Monday, so good pizza night.
