We walked in on a Saturday night 7 minutes before their scheduled close. We apologized for arriving so late to their closing time and asked if we could simply get a pizza to go. The counter person told us our late arrival was not a problem and invited us to take a booth. We thought that was very nice. After... More

This is 100% authenticity Chicago style deep dish pizza. Couple that with Chicago sports memorabilia all over the walls and good service, a great place to eat. One pizza can feed four people so it's not all that expensive either. I recommend th place for anyone who has been away from Chi town way too long.

We've been in the area a couple of times and have made this a stop both times. We enjoy the pizza. Laid back atmosphere and good service.

We were visiting Birmingham on a business trip and decided to select Tortugas. This was a great atmosphere and a great experience. The food was excellent we had a Chicago style pizza. Super friendly and accommodating team! Love the shop and atmosphere! We tried the deep dish the first time and thin the next. The deep dish is legit, true Chicago style, but if you like that kind, it's really heavy. Thin was ok.....seems the deep dish is their specialty! Worth a trip!

Love this local pizza spot with thin and thick crust pizza. The spinach salad with homemade dressing is one of my favorites. The owners, Carol and Carlos are very friendly and speak to everyone.

Been several times and always gotten a pizza. This isn't your pizza hut pizza...this is a real deal pizza. My recommendation is to call ahead and order because it will take 45 minutes for the pizza. Once you get it, you will know why. Great service and easy location to get in and out.

The owners are great people who serve great food, lunch is a bargain and don't miss the lasagna, but the pizza thin crust or the Chicago is just simply great. Been to Chicago and New York great pizza's but how much better to just drive around the corner. By the way it was selected as one of the 100 dishes... More

I love this place. The service is great. You obviously have to wait a little longer for one of their amazing Chicago style pizzas, but it is well worth the wait. I highly recommend.
