My lunch was very good. The restaurant is different in that they have different menus daily. I opted for a tradition Polish meal & I really enjoyed it. However, my wife got the chicken & dumplings ( the waitress said if you like Cracker Barrel...chicken & dumplings will love these) They were pretty bad.. nothing like Cracker Barrel and certainly nothing like the sliders my mother-in-law makes. She took two bites and left the rest. The waitress was very nice & efficient. Restaurant was very clean as well.More

We’ve been meaning to try this spot and went for lunch last week. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We had soup and half sandwich. He had beer cheese soup & chicken salad - I had tomato basil & turkey sandwich. Both were good and very generous...portions. Came with cheese wafers and attractive plate. It was a peaceful spot - not loud or hectic. service was great - the owner very helpful. They have Greek for next month and we will go try it.More

We have eaten here twice and it is definitely recommended! The food was good, the staff was friendly, and it was quite pleasant to eat there. I want to try lunch there!

Our Senior Citizen Center Lunch Bunch came and ate here the other day. Each month this restaurant celebrates a different country although their main menu offers many different foods from those countries. This month was German. My husband ordered the Roasted Bratwurst with Red Cabbage...and Apples along with our friend's husband. They were very pleased with their choices. My friend ordered the Schnitzel with German Potato Salad and Cucumber Salad and she like both of the salads but preferred the schnitzel to be pork than the one they served which was chicken. I ordered their Beer Cheese Soup (bowl) and it was the best I have ever had!! In fact, I wanted to take some to go but forgot. I also had their Turkey Reuben which was very tasty! For dessert, we splurged and had their Key Lime Cake which was very delicious. The Chef and the Owner are so delightful and friendly. You order at the deli counter and pay and then get your drinks. They then bring your order to the table. I have not stopped bragging about this wonderful place or the food we ate. In fact, we will be back soon with more of our friends!!More

I wrestled with a 3 or 4 for this place. It's a great little place with lots of personal service. The owner/manager greeted me, explained the menu and the daily and monthly specials. I ordered the Swedish Meatballs and a side salad. I enjoyed the...meatballs, but I wouldn't call them great. The noodles were well-prepared, not overdone and the veggies and included roll were cooked just right. The portion size was just right as well and everything tasted good.More

We were looking for something different for lunch and found Customs Cafe. Each month they serve a different menu inspired by a different ethnic region, it happened to be Germany when we stopped in. They also serve standard American fare. My wife had a Ruben...and I had a Monte Cristo ,both were excellent sandwiches. We will be back!More

One week ago we were casting about for a new place to eat when my wife suggested this place. We dropped by for a late lunch and fell in love with the feel, smells and tastes from the CC (Customs Cafe). I ordered one of...my favorite meals when I visit a German restaurant: bratwurst with red cabbage. This plate also came with some cooked sliced apples. Wow! Their presentation, and taste hit a home run with me. This was better than the last German restaurant I had visited (and 300 miles closer!). The bratwurst was smooth, with subtle flavors true to the Bratwurst Tradition. The red cabbage was among the best I've ever had, and the apples exceeded my expectations. They do not yet have their liquor license so I could not order a Pilsner to go with the Brat, but nevertheless, we will be coming back to check out their ever changing international flavors.More

This Cafe was in the Hoover Library for several years before they made the move to a storefront. This is a very neat concept as they have food from around the world, hence the name "Customs Cafe". They have a variety of foods and the...menu is a little overwhelming for a first time customer. But, the owner, who was very friendly, quickly explained the concept of the restaurant and explained the menu and answered any questions that we had. My husband and I both ordered the Baked Ziti which comes with a side of Italian veggies and a roll. I was in the mood for salad so I ordered a side salad to go with mine. The Baked Ziti was delicious!! The Italian sausage gave it an excellent taste. The Italian veggies were perfectly cooked and quite tasty as well. My salad was fresh and completed the meal. They highlight a different country every month and have select dishes from that country. January is Cuban month so we ended our dinner by sharing a Flan which was yummy!! One thing you might want to keep in mind is that the portions are not huge. It is plenty of food and I was full but, my husband was still hungry when we left but, he didn't get a salad. We definitely will go back!! I love the fact that it is something unique and different to our area.More

Friendly, clean, great fast service. I will be bringing the family next time. I am hoping for sauerbraten on the German menu.
