Some of my extended family and I went for a casual dinner to Jackson's. The atmosphere inside was much louder and a-little-run-down-bar-like than I thought it was be. But, I was very pleasantly surprised by the food, which was delicious. The salmon Caesar salad was great, the fish cooked exactly as I requested. The seasoning was on the saltier/blackened side... Jackson's is an average or typical neighborhood bar & grill. I dont like their indoor atmosphere. Its too loud and "concrete" looking. Outdoors is nice with plenty of seating. Menu is good. The beer selection is decent. Wines are middle of the road. Friendly staff. Free parking is best in the underground deck. Prices are very good-good value. Happy Hour... More

We dined on a Monday evening. There were probably about 15 of us, without a reservation. We decided to eat out on the patio since many of us had just arrived from the cold north, the warm night was beyond tempting - plus it was a bit load inside the bar. The staff quickly shuffled several tables together and got... More

We've dined here many times and find Jackson's to have very consistent service and food. The menu is very diverse and interesting. We love the torrados, a spinach wrapped meal that is unique and tasty! If weather permits, sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere. Also, try the "Wine of the Moment". Those wines are very inexpensive but usually VERY good.

A few years ago my friends and I frequented this place. You can't beat the awesome outdoor seating a great spring or summer day. It seems that the place has definitely gone down since our last visit. The service was the main issue, as the place was totally understaffed. Our waitress continually apologized for the slow service. The drinks are... More

I hate to be totally negative about any place so I'll start with saying the beer was cold. I ordered the Steak and Frites, medium rare. I was served a well done steak with the greasiest Brussels sprouts I have ever had. I asked for steak sauce and they don't serve it. My co workers had other food on the... More

They have a good selection and specialize in wings. I saw some real characters (not dangerous, just fun) but also met some very nice people there. I visited on a Wednesday night so I would imagine it's packed on Friday and Saturday.

The restaurant was crowded and it was quickly evident they were understaffed. Our waiter did a good job but he was trying to cover so many tables he had a hard time keeping up. The house salad was not very good but my main entree - bbq and grilled meat loaf was excellent. Near the end of our meal we... More

As a visitor to Birmingham, I had heard that Jackson's was a good spot to grab some food and catch up with friends. Unfortunately, we were unable to get a table for our group. We had called five (5!) times and nobody answered the phone. Finally, after the sixth time calling someone answered the phone and told us that they... More

My fiancé and I visited here almost weekly for brunch when she lived in Bham and now stop in for brunch anytime we are in town. Great atmosphere inside. Spacious patio in a low traffic (foot or car) area. Bloody Mary is on point. Most of the brunch items are very good and some are not like anything else you... More
