When we lived in Birmingham, pre-2005, we dined at Nabeel's frequently and I miss it! When we travel through Birmingham, I beg my husband to leave I-65 so we can eat there. Everything is delicious, but the grouper is exceptional. They have an appetizer call Feta Theologos that is out of this world. Desserts are terrific and having a market... More

I've lived in the area almost 30 years, and Nabeel's has been around almost as long. Yet this was my first visit. The food is very traditional, served in an old neighborhood environment. The staff were friendly and efficient. If you like Greek food, this is a great place for a good lunch or dinner. If you want a chain... More

This place is really unique in Birmingham/Homewood. They offer an incredibly diverse Mediterranean menu and some interesting wine options as well. They also have an attached grocery where they sell foods and ingredients hard to find elsewhere. Try them if you have an appetite for something new and different!

We wanted to try this place because we heard how good it was. We were disappointed. The food was ok, but nothing great. Service was average. Maybe we expected more because of all the good reviews.

I love Nabeel's. It's authentic Greek. You must try the baked feta!! I love the Greek salad with chicken salad. There really are few that can compete. The feta burger is another yummy option. I love the tea, but if you're not a mint fan, be warned.

Went here for dinner with a group of 3 friends. I had the burger with feta which tasted fine but was cold before I received it. The service was terrible, and I had to get up and go find a waiter to receive service at one point. I will not be returning and neither will the other members of my... More

Nabeel's is a great little cafe located just outside downtown Homewood. The decor is Mom and Pop, dated and a bit dusty, but still managed to pull off an old school charm. As far as eats, the food is great. I ordered the Camel Rider (which has been listed as one of the best sandwiches in Alabama) and it was... More

This is a long standing place that locals have eaten at for 20 years or more. Market next door is fantastic. Burger with feta in middle is awesome. Best dish for me is their baked chicken dish.

Excellent food, friendly staff, and old world charm. The mint tea is a must! The portions are plentiful. The entrance was a little confusing as went walked through the grocery first. We later saw that there is an entrance directly into restaurant. Loved the brass nameplates in the booths to honor an occasion or special people.

Stopped in for lunch. Service was excellent and the food even better. And the mint tea -- surprisingly good and refreshing! Ambiance is creative and colorful and the attached grocery store is fun to explore. Well worth a visit!
