This place has been serving consistently good meat and 3 meals for over 3 decades. Nothing fancy, but really good "southern" food served by people who care about their customers. Very affordable.

Every time I pass through Birmingham, I stop for fried chicken, mac & cheese, and collard greens. It's hard to find a "fix" equivalent to this most anywhere else!

Hands down, the best friend green tomatoes in Bham! They are set apart by using panko vs the traditional cornmeal and there is ZERO comparison - sorry Whistle Stop! Can't beat the convenience of the drive-thru anytime of the day and cafeteria style dining. Selections are changed daily to the regular menu and always fresh. Best fresh friend catfish and... More

My husband and I recently had dinner from this restaurant. I order by drive-thru and we are usually very pleased with the service. However, recently, we had an issue. After I had gotten the food home and we prepared to eat, we discovered the order was incorrect. I drove back to the restaurant and asked for the manager. The manager... More

I've visited the Paw Paw Patch at least a dozen times, always with a group of 3 - 5. The fare is traditional Southern with a myriad of choices in a typical meat and three cafeteria setting. The prices are very reasonable and the table service after you grab a seat at a table is outstanding. The fried chicken and... More

My sister took my family here when we visited. It is cafeteria style, which I was not expecting, and I didn't love that. I hate the pressure of having a line of people behind me, trying to figure out the menu quickly. I had a piece of chocolate pie, fried chicken, fried green tomatoes, mashed potatoes, and sweet tea. The... More

My wife and I ate at the Paw Paw Patch and enjoyed some of the best home cooking around. The servings have always been more than we could eat. We will be going back.

My uncle carried us to Paw Paw's when we were in Birmingham and we were not disappointed. There was something for everybody. The food not only looked good, it tasted delicious.

Best soul food on a budget in Birmingham. I always get the roast beef, broc/cheese, and roasted red potatoes. Food service is line-style, table service for drinks is great - their sweet tea is to die for in the summer. Great place, great prices!

We went looking for a place to eat while we were here for medical. The food was fabulous. Dad had the fried chicken and I had the veggie plate. I would recommend.
