Our family visited Bahama Bob’s Beach Side Cafe while vacationing in Gulf Shores, Alabama. We arrived around 6 on a weeknight and were quoted a 45 minute wait that probably ended up being an hour. There is a small parking lot adjacent to the building with a larger public parking lot across the street.
There are two different outside seating options but we ended up on the inside area which has a few tables and the bar. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. Everyone at our table enjoyed their food. The kids shrimp meal is larger than most adult portions at restaurants and gave us leftovers for the next day. Overall we had a pleasant visit to Bahama Bob’s and would recommend it to anyone visiting Gulf Shores.

We spent 6 days here. It was our first trip. Our first night we ate at the Oyster House (also excellent) and our waiter suggested we try Bahama Bob’s. My wife and I celebrated our 26th anniversary here. We started with the coconut shrimp. It was the best we have ever had! The pineapple sauce was incredible. I had the shrimp Po Boy. Words can not describe adequately this experience! The bread was soft and fresh, the shrimp was crispy and fresh and the combination of flavors was heavenly. As a bonus, the seasoned fries were crispy and served hot! Portion size was generous. My wife had the stuffed fish with potatoes and green beans. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. While it didn’t take away from the overall experience, if I were to make one critique, I felt that the serving was small for $20. Finally, we finished up with the key lime pie. Easily the best I have had. Admittedly, I don’t order this often, but it was the right combination of sweet and tart. I Look forward to returning the next time we are in Gulf Shores!

Food was awesome as usual. Kevin was our server and he was friendly, fun and attentive - we lacked for nothing. Tried the alligator bites as an appetizer - fried but hot and lightly breaded, loved the chili dipping sauce. Crab Legs were very pricey but cooked perfectly. Several of us got the Ruby Reds which are local, heads on but very delicious. Also had the grilled scallop skewer, with a touch of cajun seasoning. The bucket drinks are fun - the Blueberry Bay Breeze was extra goods. The sides were red potatoes (nothing special) and green beans (good). We waited about 45 minutes at 5:00 on a Monday for a party of 6, obviously we don't mind because we come here every time we come to Gulf Shores.

My family and I went to eat here tonight (6-4-20) and when I approached the hostess stand I encountered the rudest women I’ve ever met. I like to think I’m a very polite and well mannered person, so to have someone speak to me the way she did was absolutely uncalled for. Not to mention the frequent eye rolls when asked about the wait time. We took our business elsewhere even though we love the food here.

We have men's and women's classes at church on Tuesday morning and go to Bahama Bob's quite often. Tuesday special is pot roast with carrots and potatoes, two sides and desert. Pot roast is as good as you get anywhere including at home. Service is always excellent with people who smile like they actually enjoy what they are doing.

Stopped in for lunch and the place was packed. The parking lot wasn't full so evidently there was a bunch of walk-ins from the area. I ordered the popcorn shrimp with fries and greens and the wife had flounder with mac & cheese and slaw. Both were lunch specials at $8.99, a good value. The shrimp was piled high and her fish was 4 good size strips. The sides were a little on the skimpy side but enough, plenty to eat at a bargain price. We'll definitely go back.

This place is busy, so plan to come early and grab a drink while you wait outside. It’s totally worth it though. My friends and I (late 40s ladies) enjoyed the food and cocktails very much. The steamed, scampi style crab claws are amazing, grilled scallops & shrimp were tasty, the gumbo had lots of actual seafood in it (delicious), and the frozen screwdrivers topped it off perfectly. The service was attentive without making us feel rushed at all. If you are not staying within walking distance, I suggest that you park across the street- the parking lot is small and busy. Probably one of the best choices in Gulf Shores!

We ate here on Friday night (June 26) and there was about a 1.5 hour wait. I had grilled shrimp and scallops with rice. The scallops were some of the best I’ve had and the shrimp was pretty good. I was disappointed in the rice. It was just plain white rice (no seasoning, no flavor). My older son had crab legs and he said they were good. His sides were baby red potato and corn (like you would see in a “boil”). However, they weren’t from a boil, they were plain and dry as well. No seasoning whatsoever. My husband had the grilled shrimp with the plain potatoes and corn. My younger son had popcorn shrimp. Seafood good, sides lacking.

We eat here every time we are in Gulf Shores. Great food, great atmosphere. Little small but, that's what we look for. If you like Bleau Cheese it's hard to match anywhere. All the seafood - grilled, boiled, or fried is well above most. As I said, we eat here at least once, every time we are at the beach.

Tried to call and place an order for pickup but gave up after 20 tries getting a busy signal every time. Went in person and waited over an hour for a table. Food was ok, but when we paid the waitress gave us the wrong ticket and I wound up paying an extra 8 bucks for someone else's meal. Again, when I tried to call, they did not answer the phone. I won't be back.

Visiting Gulf Shores for a long weekend and we stopped in based on the online reviews and a friend's recommendation. It was well worth it! The coconut shrimp to start was delicious, followed by catch of the day - red snapper (blackened) for me and flounder (also blackened) for my boyfriend. Went back later in the weekend to try the gumbo and key lime pie we'd heard so much about. Requested Kevin as our server because we had such good service on the last visit. Both the gumbo and pie were very good. The pie had just the right amount of tartness and a graham cracker crust made it just right. The "Crabby Patty" sandwich was a good-sized crab & shrimp patty with good flavor. And the trigger fish sandwich was really good too. A couple of Rum-runners from the bar topped off our lunch. Totally recommend this place if you're in Gulf Shores!

The food was good here. Portion size was also good. I got the pineapple chicken and it was two thin chicken breasts with canned pineapple that was grilled atop the chicken breasts. It was good but not what I was quite expecting by description on the menu. The red potatoes were delicious. I got a side salad and their dressings are all homemade, which is a plus. We also got the cheddar jalapeño poppers and they were really good and very cheesy! My husband enjoyed the grilled scallops a lot. I was thinking by the description it would be waterfront dining, but you can only get a sneak peek view of the water. There is hotel in front of restaurant. :(
Servers were very attentive and service was fast.

Delicious seafood! Our hotel was next door so we decided to try this place the first night and although we had a long wait it was well worth it! We loved it so much we ate here twice on our trip! We were easily able to social distance, servers wore masks and the tables were sanitized between customers. Some of the favorite foods we had....Coconut shrimp was so yummy! Cooked to perfection! Whitefish was so fresh! Grilled Scallops some of the best I’ve ever had! Crab legs were good, Pineapple burger was great! I agree with some of the other reviews the sides were a little lacking but overall this was an excellent restaurant and it did not disappoint.

My wife and I read the rave reviews of Bahama Bob’s and wanted to try the best places in Gulf Shores, so headed to Bahama Bob’s with the understanding there would be a long wait due to the popularity of the place. When we arrived, we were lucky to find the last parking place in the lot. Our wait was about 25 minutes, but the day was beautiful, so we bought a drink while waiting and the time went fast. I ordered the catch of the day, which was trigger fish - a totally new experience for me. The fish was delicious! The side was green beans and potatoes. The beans were way over cooked. The portion size of the fish was average - not huge. My wife had the royal red shrimp, which she regretted. The prices were high. Too high for what we got, and we really don’t understand why this place is so popular. We found better food elsewhere for much less expense and shorter waits. However, I do need to say our server was outstanding.
