I had the senior portion of the blackened tuna prepared as recommended by our waiter. Cooked and flavored perfectly. Bread, potato, and cole slaw were all fine. My friends key lime pie was great too. Service was fast and polite. Great experience overall and will return.

We love seeing the familiar faces at this place every time we visit the beach. The food is consistently delicious. My teens love the popcorn shrimp. The sweet potato fries are to die for and the good southern sweet tea with fresh lemon cannot be beat. This southern girl has to eat at DeSoto's at least once or twice on... More

We have eaten here every time we come to Gulf Shores. From the fresh baked bread to the sea food, to the Southern vegetables--- it was all delicious! The prices are very reasonable! Will be back!!!

We ate here last night with another couple. It was busy, but waited only about 10 minutes. It was quieter and a little more classy than most seafood places we've been to in the area, but still casual if that's what you prefer. We were brought a basket full of warm mini loaves of bread to start with. Melt in... More

We've had oysters at home, in Chicago, in San Francisco and other places but these were the best we've had so far. My son (who used to be a very picky eater) tried them for the first time and wanted more (instead of his entree). The next day he wanted to get more oysters. The Pan'eed grouper was wonderful. The... We visited De Soto's on the recommendation of a State Park range. We were so glad we did. The restaurant is popular with both locals and visitors. De Soto's offers simple, traditional southern food e.g. Shrimp creole, gumbo, fired catfish and hush puppies. Lunch specials are particularly good value for money. Serving staff are friendly and efficient- a rare combination.

This restaurant has been around a long time and is very busy. The building is old, but it appears fairly clean. Service is organized and prompt. The menu is quite varied and pretty inexpensive. We all ordered a variation of broiled seafood from the senior menu. Iced tea and bread is included, as are two sides. The cole slaw is... More

Probably had the best meal of our week in Gulf Shores at DeSoto's! My wife had the coconut shrimp and couldn't say enough good about it! Nothing fancy, but food was worth the stop!

Great food and service. Really good coleslaw. Longtime family owned restaurant and winner of several local awards. Meeting room available.
