I loved my Chef Salad with turkey. The kids had turkey sandwiches, and the husband had an open-faced turkey sandwich. It was all excellent and under $30 including drinks. My only complaint was the tables weren't being cleaned fast enough.

For anyone traveling up or down I-65 between Montgomery and Mobile or the beach this is a very good place to stop for lunch. Certainly beats the "fast food" options. First of all, it's convenient. It's quick and easy to get off and on the interstate and there's a gas station next door if you need to top off the... More

We stopped here this past Sunday and all I can say is the food is mediocre and nothing special. Our son in law stops here from time to time on his business trips. He made over this place and all I can say is that I probably won't be stopping in again. It is very easy to get to off... More

The decor is stuck in the 1970s, but the smoked turkey sandwiches are superb: tender, thin slices of free-range and organic turkey -- no drugs or additives in the feed. And better yet, we bought a pound of the paper-thin slices to take home. I've never bought the roast turkey plate. Been going there since the late 1970s.

Good home style cooking. Enjoyed the turkey and fixins. Reasonably priced meals. Easy on/off the interstate. Friendly atmosphere!

We have stopped at Bates for more than 30 years and it is consistently good. The food is as good as it gets, the people show true Southern Hospitality and it's one of the cleanest restaurants you will ever find. They are located right off I-65, at Exit 130. They used to have signs telling you that you were near... More

Almost didn't stop here after reading so many mixed reviews, but so glad we did!! Had the smoked turkey sandwich, chips and homemade chocolate pie!! Smoked turkey was very moist and really good and the chocolate pie was delicious!!! Wish that we weren't just passing through as I would definitely go here again!!!

We go to Bates house of Turkey any time we are in Greenville. They grow and smoke the turkey at their farm. The plain Turkey sandwich is awesome. They also have Turkey and dressing year round. You can also get whole Smoked breasts to go. Good people and good food!

We love the Smoked Turkey sandwich at Bates House of Turkey. We call ahead when passing that way and order. I've never eaten in, but the Smoked Turkey is amazing. Try it for yourself!

Finally stopped in after passing the billboards on the interstate all these years. We were sorely disappointed. The service was lacking to say the least. Youngsters working the counter left a lot to be desired. The food was mediocre at best.
