The smiling faces welcome you at the door to a great sushi experience. Great for keto dieters, great for sushi addicts! Every roll is tasty, even those I don’t like. I have never been let down with the supreme service at Tokyo Japanese Restaurant. Great family atmosphere and wonderful place for group dining at the Habichi table. You’ll also be pleased to know you’re supporting a locally owned and operated restaurant.
Can’t say enough good things about this restaurant! Enjoy 😊

My wife and I had a midday meal at Tokyo, and found it enjoyable but not extraordinary. My wife had Ton Katsu, and while the katsu was delicately cooked and tender, the sauce was very ordinary, possibly not house made. I ordered mixed Seafood Udon. It contained a generous amount of seafood, but was under-seasoned, and the "crab" was definitely surimi (imitation crab, made of whitefish paste). A pleasant but not special meal.
Service was friendly and efficient, but none of the staff who we saw were Japanese or Asian.
Prices are on the high side for a meal that seems to cut corners.

Excellent experience from beginning to end! In an age where pretend, imitation, “wanna be” sushi bars are everywhere it is a pleasure to find one that is authentic. The product is fresh and beautifully prepared and presented. Jacki our chef and the owner is a world class sushi chef with years of experience at top New York sushi restaurants. Service was also excellent and the entire restaurant is beautiful and immaculately clean. We will certainly be very steady customers!

We had lunch here during the week, on our first visit. The service and food were both average and acceptable, but nothing overly impressive. The prices were a bit high for the quality of food received.

Tokyo is my favorite place to go because the menu is so widespread. So many options. Healthy choices. Nice waiters.

One of the things I missed most when switching to a keto diet was sushi. Most sushi restaurants have a cumber wrapped roll of some sort but those are often underwhelming. Tokyo has a much better than average cucumber wrapped roll but they also has soy paper wrapped rolls that are amazing. They are also willing to work with you if you have a roll in mind you would like to try without rice. Here’s a helpful hint. Sit at the sushi bar itself and the chefs will definitely hook you up.

Have eaten in this restaurant for several years, It has changed ownership and was better under the old owner. We have ordered off the Menu and eaten the Hibachi. The Hiibachi is the best but more expensive

My husband and I usually frequent another local restaurant for sushi, but we rarely go any more because it is so loud. We enjoyed Tokyo so much! The sushi was every bit as good with a better selection. We were able to sit in a booth and carry on a conversation. My daughter enjoys Tokyo's fried rice.

My husband and I met some friends here for dinner. It was our first time there, so we didn't know what to expect. I am glad we decided on this restaurant. The food was really good, and prices were running normal for this type restaurant. I do recommend this to everyone.

Last night we visited for the first time the Tokyo Japanese Restaurant in Fairhope,Al. The server was good and food came promptly BUT I had chicken hibachi and my husband had shrimp/scallop hibachi. The chicken was like rubber and my husbands scallops were the same way. The shrimp and vegetables were good. We were the only people in the restaurant so it wasn't like they were rushed. We will not be returning sorry to say.
