The excellent rating is for the food selection, taste, quality, and presentation. We had the grouper and shrimp scampi and both had wonderful seasonings and nice plating. A great place to celebrate any type of special occasion.

We appreciate the kind words Tina !
My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at the FHI. The dining room is quaint but simple elegance. The vinaigrette salad was amazing in presentation and taste. Pork chop was delicious. The wine list is simple, priced very well and offers something for all....Really do think this is a great experience in dining.More
Thank you for the wonderful words - glad your experience met your expectations and ours as well! Hope you'll return to see us again soon.
Delicious 5 star lunch! We went for a couples lunch and the food was excellent. Our server Isabel was very accommodating and friendly. The bubble over seafood dip was 10/10 also the fresh catch and the crab cakes were delightful. We would definitely recommend!
Love a good couples lunch! Thank you for the wonderful review - the crabcakes are a signature favorite. Hope you'll return again soon!
We recently held our sons and daughter in laws rehearsal dinner at the Fairhope Inn. We were planning this event long distance. Jeffrey the General Manager was amazing and patient working with us and helping us coordinate various details. Paige the owner went above and...beyond on the day of the dinner making sure everything was perfect right down to the flowers on the tables. Their staff was equally as impressive including the lead bar tender who did a great job at handing and coordinating two different stations one inside one outside and never missing a beat. The food was delicious as we did a surf and turf and, have since received many compliments from our guest. I would highly recommend this venue and their dedicated and caring staff. I should note as well that my husband said the crab cakes were outstanding. Thank you again to the Fairhope Inn staff for making our night so special and one to remember!More
Thank you for the wonderful review - and for allowing us the honor of hosting your big event! 🥂
Absolutely wonderful! Four of us had dinner and we all agreed that everything was perfect. We started with drinks and wine which were very good. I had the Diver Scallops, my husband had the grouper, and our friends had the Red Snapper. We each loved...our entree. Two of us started with a salad and two with the chowder du jour. Excellent. We finished with 3 different desserts which were equally wonderful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Brian was our server and made perfect suggestions. I will ask for him again. Pricy? Perhaps. But well worth the quality of food, atmosphere and service we received. We will be back!! No disappointments.More
So glad to hear about your five star experience! Always our goal. The Diver Scallops have been a menu signature for nearly 25 years - glad you saved space for our chef favorite desserts, too. We'll share your shout out to Brian - and hope...More
I would have given four stars but they need real blue cheese olives for martinis. The waiter did what he could but not quite right. Food and service was good.
We appreciate the recommendation - and will get right to work! 🍸
We went for brunch based on the recommendation of a friend. The wait staff was attentive but not overbearing. Perfect we thought. The ambiance is really nice. The decor is lovely. The food was delicious especially the fried eggplant with shrimp and the chocoate cake...for dessert. The tables were well placed. They do have a porch and it looked like outside dining which we will ask for the next time we go. It is a bit pricey but you don't mind if everything is as it should be. We look forward to returning.More
Thank you for those thoughtful words - and for appreciating many of the details that are essential to us: service, experience, food (of course!) and customer comfort with COVID-19 safety protocols. We hope to see you again soon!
Had my son's rehearsal dinner at the Inn and everything was perfect. Dining area, food and excellent service. Wouldn't have changed a thing. Thanks to Jeff and his staff.
Thank you for the opportunity to play a part in your celebration! Hope to see you again soon.
Had great food, atmosphere and service. Expensive but worth it. Wine by the glass was excellent. Would return.
Thank you John - don't wait another 4 years for a Leap Year Day to see us!
Had brunch for the third time under the new owner. The menu is small and uninspiring. I ordered the Chicken Rockefeller. It is described as "Crispy Chicken Breast stuffed with Parmesan and Spinach". It was neither crispy or stuffed. There were no cooking marks on...the chicken at all. It looked and tasted as if it had been cooked in a microwave. The potatoes were fine. The grits had been on the plate and under a warmer so long that there was a hard skin on top that you could bounce a fork on. The Bloody Mary was straight out of a ZingZang bottle (the bottles were lined up on the bar) and priced at $12 each. Really no reason to return.More
Decor is lovely and wait staff is as well, however, under the new management the great food we expected just was not there. For instance: 3 people in a party of 4 for lunch ordered the special which was tile fish with a sauce. The...size of the fish was decent but the sauce was watery and there was very little of it. It did not enhance the fish at all and all you got was almost tasteless fish. We will not go for lunch again due to this and a week earlier had the chicken which was too dry. The scallops dish came with some type of green which was almost cooked into oblivion. It looked like a 1 1/2 in very overcooked weed. So disappointing and everyone agreed. The beet salad and mushroom soup were, however, very very good. Very much missed fried green tomato with shrimp remoulade sauce...no longer an item and very few other appealing lunch possibilities. On a high side: the wait staff and front desk were lovely and the place was packed so maybe it was just "us".More
hmmm...This place is lovely, the food was good, but we were really disappointed in service for our party of 10. Our waiter disappeared on us about halfway through our meal, though he was waiting on other tables. We had to ask for drink refills, the...dessert menu, and it took us forever to get and pay our bills that were brought to us by a girl who apparently took over for our overwhelmed waiter. No acknowledgement or apology from the waitstaff or the manager. I guess they were understaffed. Disappointed.More
The Fairhope Inn recently catered a Wedding Rehearsal Dinner for us at The Balcony. The food was absolutely divine and the service was wonderful. I highly recommend working with Jeffrey for a memorable dining experience.
Thank you for taking the time to let us know your rehearsal dinner was a great experience! Jeffrey has been with the Inn for a very long time and is a treasure!
Warm and friendly. A great place for special occasions and for the locals - all the time. Fresh and clean. Our new owner really knows how to restore and preserve historic places.
We enjoyed having you as our guest and appreciate the lovely compliments. Please come again soon!
My husband and I were so looking forward to the reopening of this restaurant. It has always been one of our favorites under prior ownership. It took 25 min to be acknowledged by a server and that was after my husband finally got up and...approached someone. Servers were busy taking care of people all around us, but they all looked straight through us several times and never acknowledged our presence in any way. It was like we were ghosts. Thirty min after our arrival, we finally got our wine, but we were so put out with being ignored that it took the edge off of what was supposed to be a relaxing evening. It appeared that the restaurant was understaffed and the staff was distracted by a large party that came in right after us. Who knows? Our food was satisfactory, but overall it was a big disappointment.More
Ms. Allen, Thank you so much for sharing your comments. While are delighted you chose to dine at the Inn and support us during our reopening, our staff is disheartened that your first visit back was not up to the high standards of hospitality you’ve...More
