Walking in you are impressed by the bar and dessert case. We were seated at a back table and got good service. The onion soup and salad were delicious. The key lime pie was perfect for lunch. The wine selection and mixed drinks added to...the lunch.More

We were so excited to be back in Fairhope and enjoy a special meal at one of our favorite eateries. We were exceedingly disappointed. The noise level in the restaurant made it impossible for us to talk to each other across the table. The fresh...catch meal was delicious and the quality we've experienced in the past. However, the Steak Frites (Grand) was a disappointment. The steak was perfectly cooked and could be cut with a dinner knife. However the pommes frites were a joke - we have the same thin cut fries in the freezer at home. The menu prices on the website are no where near current prices. Our server was attentative, but he made it seem as though something was wrong for our order which we waited a very long time for. Sadly, do no think we would go back.More

Visited R Bistro and what a wonderful meal. I tried gumbo, shrimp and grits and dessert and it was fantastic. Please save room for dessert, it is so worth it.

This lunch meal was laughable. I asked for a cup of French onion soup but was told I had to get a bowl. It was barely warm. We weren't very hungry, it was a warm day and we were eating outside. My husband only wanted...the sliders. If I could tell you how little they were, less than a child's plate. Everything was priced separately. The total bill was something like 70. for almost no food and two glasses of wine. It felt like highway robbery. Just say no. The waitress was very unpolished and it was just a joke all the way around really. I normally am not a negative person but I just want to prevent others learning what we did.More

my wife and I were walking in downtown Fairhope, AL. We decided we wanted to try a local restaurant. After looking a 3 different ones we decided on R Bistro. Well, it was the best chance decision we have every made. First, the staff were...impeccable and friendly. Our server Cheyanne, was friendly and attentive. The food was marvelous and filling. My wife had Shrimp and slaw and I had their version of shrimp and grits. We also had the crawdad bites which is crawfish in a hushpuppy. I highly recommend all of these dishes. My Shrimp and Grits were sprimp in a crawfish Alfreado sauce with a spicy Grits patty. My wife's Shrimp and Slaw were 6 fired shrimp with the "Best" slaw she has every had. My wife is very finicky about her slaw. She also said the meal was jusdt enough and not over filling. Please if you are in Fairhope, Alabama and have the time. Please see Cheyanne and give R Bistro a try.More

R Bistro was a wonderful surprise on our visit to Fairhope. It exactly duplicates the atmosphere of a small French restaurant in look and feel, as well as a creative menu. Service was excellent, and the food beyond that. The filet mignon special was simply...outstanding, as was the salmon and grouper. Award-winning gumbo is a must for a starter. And their pastries, ooh la la!More

We stopped here during Fairhope Food Tour. The bartender was delightful provided us with a special cocktail and conversation. The fried grits and shrimp appetizer was our favorite of the food tour. Would definitely return to try diner and exquisite looking desserts!

We very much enjoyed our meal. The service was great. We had artichoke dip that was tasty. My husband’s gumbo was okay. The roux had gone too far and was a bit of a burnt taste. The show stopper was the fried shrimp with fennel...slaw. Wow!!!More

What a pleasant and delicious meal we had at R Bistro in Fairhope. I had the salmon and veggies which was so delicious and Husband had the spinach salad with shrimp. The salmon entre included two filets so Husband has to help out. Very very...good. Our charming server, Cheyenne, offered lots of dessert options and we chose the banana pudding-not your grandma’s banana pudding. Oh so good. Such a nice dinner.More

We never really had a bad meal in Fairhope, but this was not impressive as an upscale restaurant. Also tables super close together

Tiny and dingy. Very small place. The food was good but the service was bad. The atmosphere was small and tired. Not worth the price.

We walked over here from our hotel. The customers close to our table were rather raucous but soon left. The wait staff was very good as was the food. The menu has a French colonial caste and our meals were delicious.

The filet will literally melt in your mouth! We also tried their biscuits with crayfish gravy as an appetizer and it was phenomenal. The bread they serve is delicious and very fresh. It's a small upscale restaurant, but you feel welcomed immediately. Reservations recommended, but...they will try to accommodate you of possible without reservations. They have a large wine list and also have craft beers and specialty drinks.More
