Value. A good steak and sides for a fair price with excellent service. Old building with tons of charm and character. Not fancy.

Second time here and it was as good as the first. It’s almost refreshing at this point to go to a restaurant and have a steak cooked correctly and to standard. You ask for medium you get a perfect medium, you ask for rare you...get rare. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and not overly seasoned so you can enjoy the beefy taste. Very reasonable for prices so people complaining about high prices obviously have never been outside of Dothan, possiblely ever. 28 bucks for a perfectly cooked prime steak, two sides and some rolls is approaching robbery in this day in age. Will go again, obviously.More
I have been wanting to try this place for YEARS!! It was well worth the money!! We couldn't have been more pleased with the staff, the food, the atmosphere!! Sabrina was our server and she was awesome!!
Ive always had people tell me this place was so great for steaks, so great. Prices are horrible, nothing special about the steaks. "Choice" steak grade seems a joke, these were more like "select" grade steaks, with very little marbling, also very tough. For the...price, a really ridiculous price. The side of "broccoli" resembles a microwaved version of bagged brocolli, add cheese for 75 cents. The steak fries were so random and overdone, then overdone in certain places it looks like a blind man cut them up. Oh, they give you a doughy as heck yeast roll after the steaks come out. And to whet your appetite, they bring you captain wafer crackers and butter. Youre not missing much if you go to a chain, and you might get a better steak. Pass the A-1 please because this steak needs something tasty to cover up the bland, no marbling, chewy flavor. Wont go again. Overrated. Will continue making steaks at home if this is what the restaurant eating crowd consisers a "great steak"More
Grew up eating at Conestoga so of course I have to come here when I make a trip home. Thanks for the delish food, great memories and as always spectacular service.
We were visiting friends for n the area and decided last minute to find a place that served steaks. This place was recommended. It did not disappoint! My son’s rare ribeye was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing! All our food was delicious and the staff...were friendly and helpful! We would visit quite often if we lived nearby! We were extremely satisfied with our experience there and would recommend this restaurant to everyone!More
This place used to be a gem in Dothan. Now it’s just one more overpriced restaurant. Save your money and eat elsewhere. Overpriced. Pickup staff at the desk couldn’t have cared less for the customers. Girl was leaned back in her chair, feet up on...the counter and playing on her phone. Horrible presentation. Other staff bored and it showed that they couldn’t care less about the customers. Had dinner ordered for carry out. 1 filet 5oz 1 ribeye regular 1 ribeye large Total for our bill without drinks $82.00 Just for carry out. Baked potatoes were very small and cold Salads ridiculously small. Rolls ok Overall for no table side service and just carry out these prices are horrible. Name brand steak houses don’t even charge this much. Forget local and go with the chains Steaks were chewy and the regular ribeye was mooing in spite of being order well done. Filet was a cheap horrible cut of meat. For a steak place it’s not competitive at all Thumbs down to this place. Much like the old wagons , just roll on by this place and give it a pass.More
With all the covid crap, they have trimmed their menu. The ribeye was one of the best steaks I have had in a long time, cooked perfectly, and the marinade was great! House made ranch dressing on the salad was also fantastic! Can't wait for...my next trip through Dothan!More
Very good steak. I eat here once monthly and they rarely get the temperature of the steak right. Wish they had a few other side options. Broccoli is always a bit under cooked. All in all- one of the best steak values you'll ever get.
If you are in the mood for a great steak, this is THE place to go. The steaks are always cooked to perfection and served with delicious, fresh made rolls. French fries are hand cut and fried just the way they should be. Don’t pass...up one of their hamburgers; the beef is freshly ground every day, and there is no skimping on portion size. Don’t look for seafood or poultry; this is all about beef. Enjoy, and leave some for me!More
Simple. Not fancy. Steaks are fantastic! And the rolls are great! Have been eating here for 40 years and still can’t beat the food.
Even though I was raised in central Alabama and I've traveled through Dothan countless times, I recently visited the Conestoga Steakhouse for the first time. After one visit I can say its I highly recommend them for an awesomely great steak. The building is a...little older and somewhat dated. The inside doesn't look like its changed much since they opened over 30 years ago. But you don't visit a steakhouse for their decor. You come to eat! The 12 ounce ribeye is one of the best I've had anywhere....ever. It was cooked exactly like I wanted it. Tender and juicy; it absolutely delicious. The steamed broccoli was moist, hot, and tender. The homemade rolls were outstanding. My entire meal was perfect! The customer service was very efficient. Our server, Kenna, was prompt, professional, and friendly but never flirty or intrusive. I never give an excellent rating to any restaurant but they can earn it if the food and the customer service are both excellent. And that'sjust what this place is... excellent! Well done Conestoga Steakhoused ! Well done indeed!More
Place is low key in terms of decor and menu is limited. If you want a great tasting steak, this is the place to go. Juicy and perfectly cooked. Steaks are cut fresh each day, The meat is never frozen. Served with it’s own juice,...it’s amazing. Waitstaff takes great care of you. If you go away hungry, it’s your fault, not theirs.More
Conestoga is the gem of the Wiregrass. If I plan to go out for a steak, this is the only place that comes to mind. Other places have steak, but none of them have mastered them like Conestoga. Their homemade marinade and marbled ribeyes are...absolutely terrific. The yeast rolls could be a meal by themselves.More
Just one minute after arrival, our party of three was seated at exactly 4:40. The hostess was all business. The interior decor is early 1957... neat but very drab. Almost depressing. And, everyone thinks it’s just fine!...The dining room has laminate table tops and hard benches... the...tables had salt, pepper shaker s ketchup in the bottle steak sauce in the bottle Our server greeted us with her “ card”... the servers name is on the laminated card. Our server was very sweet. Drink orders were taken and specials were offered. We all ordered steaks. The food came out hot and perfectly cooked. But, the steaks were swimming in a vinegar based “ sauce”... no one knew that the presentation would include the “ special” sauce...Two sides come with each main course. We had the sweet potato, a baked potato, French fries and broccoli . Dessert was offered as the “ famous cheesecake”... visions of Junior s New York Cheesecake filled our minds. Alas, that’s not what came out! A graham cracker crust filled with whipped cream cheese ,sour cream ,vanilla... more of a mousse texture Comstock canned cherry, and blueberry Pie filling topped the dessert. We were out the door at 5:15!More
