It's an old (nearly 200 years old) and popular Bengali sweet shop near Hedua Park and Bethune College and very close to Vivekananda's house. The legendary tiny shop is well known and famous for it's Karapak Sandesh (hard baked Sandesh sweets) better known as Nakurer Sandesh (Nakur's Sandesh) to locals. There is no sitting arrangements but you can taste various... More

This shop is amazing. Not so fancy looking or modern. You dont even get some chair-table to sit and eat. But this doesn't stop sweet lovers to rush here time to time. Variety of sweets to taste from. personal favorite is mango flavored sondesh.

Good Authentic Kolkata's Mishti (made out of cottage Cheese )is available here. Would advice to avoid the one's laces with chocolate as they are aberration in the cusine and totally ruins the natural taste of cottage cheese.

Description
"The green-grilled mishti shop at 56 Ramdulal Street is simply called Nakur, short and (very) sweet. Peering through the iron, glasses perched on his nose, Victor picks up one of their best-selling items, Jol Bhora Norom Pak, gives them a thumbs up, and gulps down the sandesh. From a two-item menu consisting of Kada Pak and Monda back in 1844, to 2010 where Chocolate Sandesh can compete for the number one spot, Nakur has come a long way." -- The Telegraph.
