Being retired has its advantages, one can venture out for a leisurely lunch on a workday! On a recent winter afternoon, two of us braved the workday traffic and landed up at Bohemian. Chef Joymalya Bannerjee and his trendy restaurant has been getting rave reviews and we wanted to find out what the hulaballooo was all about. The doorman called... More

This restaurant was being talked about in Kolkata city for their Bengali fusion food, so I went there with my son and friends when I was visiting Kolkata from the US a few times. The food is tasty and innovative. The decor and ambience are well-thought and cool. But I have been disappointed by their service and also irregular food... More

Rather Ordinary !! I went there with lots of expectations after reading rave reviews, almost all good on Zomato and elsewhere. However, the food is uninspiring, and the much discussed fusion is only skin-deep. A place so raved must pay more attention to chilling beers, I feel perhaps it was great before, not so now. I agree with some other... More

This is the place to eat if you want to try modern Bengali cuisine. Try their baked crab. It is awesome. It is a good place for those who are already familiar with Bengali cuisine and want to try a different take on it. Similarly, for Europeans who are sceptical of trying traditional Indian food, it is a good introduction... More

One word. AMAZING!!! Just try out this place for the sake of experiencing awesome food. Dishes never heard of with delicious taste. As the name suggests - something unconventional, and rightly so. I heard that the chef is a renowned chef in the area here and the food justified that hype. Having lived in Kolkata for more than 2 years... More

If you want to taste Bengals ingredients and flavours with a twist, this is the place to visit. The star dish was the baked crab with cheese and kalmi saag served in earthen dishes. We also had betki, wax gourd dip with papdi and mushrooms stuffed with cheese. Mains was delicious mutton and a local fish curry. Avoid the betki... More

Been on my TO GO TO list for long and finally made it here during my annual Diwali trip back home. Had to sacrifice visit to an all time favorite restaurant so that I could tick this off my list. NO regrets at all... everything, i mean everything we ordered were above par. What took the prize from me was... More

It is a great fusion restaurant....started with grilled chicken wrap with nolen gur and darjeeling chili....main course was really good Murshidabadi chicken dish and hilsa (special dish --is not present in the menu).. Ends with "baked pantua alaska"... Overall a nice fusion food extravaganza on Christmas eve....

Had three different types of non-veg putchkas, and baked crab, jay's mutton chop and a pork dish for starters. Hilsa and chilly mutton as main course. Every dish was delicious and nicely presented. Small but popular restaurant. Would recommend advance reservation. Cost per person appx Rs 1500. Expensive but value for money.
