Located at 6, Ballygunge Place which is from where the outlet gets its name, this restaurant serves good Bengali cuisine. The interiors have been refreshed recently and gives a feel of old world Bengali charm, with large black and white tiles and interesting patterns done on plaster of paris on the walls. The food is good but the waiting time... More

I was recommended this restaurant by a local friend for local cuisine and I'm so glad I went. The old Bunglow look ... Super decor and ambience ... Super service and awesome local Bengali authentic food. The recommendations made by the staff was great and you can safely go with what they suggest. Must go place ... Must go again... More

We were visiting our daughter and as we arrived it was time for lunch and we walked up to this place from her place. As we entered, we thought it is some art gallery or museum. A grand old house is converted into a beautiful dining palace. We are vegetarians and we were disappointed that they had only couple of... More

Was my favourite Bengali restaurant with glorious food and zamindari atmosphere. A treat for the senses so was eagerly awaiting the improved version at Ballygunge. Boy was I dissapointed. Modish decor with bright lights. Felt very wanna be. Food was heavy & service light. All in all, felt like I had attended a wedding dinner, and not a delightful one.... More

The restaurant is not that crowded. The service is excellent and the food is very tasty and delicious. The lighting is bright not dim. I went to the Globsin Crystal Mall. 6 Ballygunge place is ideal for Bengali food and different types of thalis.

A perfect place for delicious Bengali food. We tried luchi and kosa mangso with mochar chop. The quality of food reminds me of our age old tradition of cooking that used to prevail in the kitchens of our mother and grandmother. There is an option for 'All you can eat' buffet also. That portion of the restaurant remains crowded. But... More

A must for visitors who want to taste authentic Bengali food. The ambience too is less like a typical restaurant...more homely. The desserts are excellent. Buffet lunch available on special festive days. Reserve table ahead to avoid waiting, specially on weekends.

Description
6 Ballygunge Place is the flagship restaurant of Savourites Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. Till 2003, Kolkata did not have any specialty eatery worth the depth of Bengali cuisine. Savourites came with a unique blockbuster named after the address "6 Ballygunge Place". A specialty eatery serving Bengali cuisine was commissioned after thorough research into cookbooks of the Tagore Era. As they say 'the rest is history'. Today 6 Ballygunge Place is housed in an exclusive Rai Bahadur Bunglow, 100 years old and retained the Old World Charm in architecture and minimalist decor. Visit the place and savor the authentic Bengali Cuisine at its best.
