Alwarpet, located in the heart of Chennai, is one of the most upmarket neighbourhoods in the city. During a stroll along the serene, spacious and green patches of the Boat Club Road and Poes Garden area which is home to Chennai’s top political leaders, business tycoons and filmstars, it is common to see Rolls Royces, Lamborghinis, Porsches, Jaguars and Audis just whiz past. A large number of the city’s most popular
attractions are within easy reach from here, including the Madras Boat Club. Seeped in sports history, it is common to find local sports fanatics celebrating in the cluster of bars, eateries, pubs and clubs closeby. Alwarpet has the best of city’s upmarket restaurants, shopping spots and a cosmopolitan crowd which attracts a lot of attention from most visiting the city.
