Have heard a lot about this place and wanted to try out food here, and it did not disappoint us. The food was delicious along with very good service. Must try once , good place to spend time with friends.

I put this place on my Mumbai to-do list after hearing great reviews. And it did not disappoint. This total Parsi dining experience greeted us with the 'no digital currency accepted' board outside and a 10 minute waiting on a Saturday afternoon which we skipped as we agreed to share a table. Their food is much talked about is limited... More

One amongst the last few remnants of the Irani-Parsi cafeteria, Britannia is a metaphor for the old European style business district situated in south Mumbai. Ballard Estate was named for Colonel J. A. Ballard, a founder of Mumbai Port Trust (MBT). The interiors transport you back to 1923 when the restaurant was founded by an Irani immigrant. He was the... More

Though I am married to a Parsi, I have not eaten something called a Berry Pulav anywhere but here. None the less and even though I doubt is authenticity as a Parsi dish it is one of my favorite things to eat and one that I would travel all the way from the suburbs to the end of town to... More

We ate here on the recommendation of our hotel, and were intrigued as it's one of the inspirations for Dishoom in London (a restaurant chain we enjoy). We weren't disappointed. Food was great - had the paneer berry pulao which was unusual, fresh, delicious, and a salted lime soda as well as the famous creme caramel. We were lucky to... More

We had heard about the place and how iconic it is. A hundred plus years old and named in honour of the British Empire! Yet, not British food - which in India and indeed, in most parts of the world - might be a hard sell but rather, Parsee cuisine! Naturally, we needed to discover it and found it located... More

I heard this is a legendary hotel due to the quality of food but to me its not. The berry pulao tasted too sweet and similar to Kerala biriyani. Most of the other dishes were also sweet. The chapathi was the best. All dishes were bland, but the place is highly overcrowded. maybe there is a specific fan set for... More

This is probably the oldest restaurant in Mumbai.. Typical old world Parsi/Irani restaurant with the same old style decor .. Very few choice for vegetarians.. --definitely not for Jains.. Good menu for Egg/meat based Parsi dishes.. Popular among Parsi families for lunch.. & also for Tourists.. Open only during 12 noon to 4:00 pm.. Comparatively Expensive in price.. We tried... More

Always wanted to Britannia as my daughter was all praise for it when she last visited it. I found it very ordinary.... overpriced and food is also so so!! They need to repair it and paint it. If you need to go to the washroom, the entry is from kitchen. So my experience with the Britannia is a big disappointment... More

Highly priced, highly overrated, impatient and rude establishment. They did not have the courtesy of even allowing me to call for a cab after paying the bill - much less wait for one. The quality of the food is not that good to justify this attitude. Never again. I could recommend better Parsee eating houses in Mumbai!
