We went here for dinner on the recommendation of a local. The food is amazing. Food: We were a large party, 8 people split across two tables, and we got to try most of Maharashtrian menu. The standout dishes were: sabudana puris, Kali peet, vada pav and missal. The dishes are small in size, but wonderfully spiced and made. The... More

We heard from a local relative about how good the food in this place was and when on family holiday, visited them twice. This restaurant is rather small, always crowded and we had to wait for 15 to 20 minutes on both occasions. Menu is authentic local Marathi food which one would seldom get in other places. Their "Misal" was... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local resident who likes vegetarian food. There is no place to park, so our driver dropped us off there. The restaurant is very tiny, small tables and chairs, all very snug. The waiter figured out we were out-of-towners and said he would get us 5-6 dishes for us to try, and the... More

This restaurant specializes in Maharashtrain food and their stand out dish is their Misal pav... Their thalipeeths (served with a dollop of butter), their pattice, their batata and sabudana vadas, masale bhat, poha etc are defi worth a try... Do not forget to round up your meal with piyush (a Maharashtrain version of the lassi)...

We ate at Aswad at about 5:30pm on a Sunday. There was no queue / wait time to enter. We ordered thalipeeth, vada pav, misal pav, puran poli, kothimbir badi and tea. Their famous misal pav was certainly good, but I'm not sure if it lived up to all the hype. The thalipeeth is definitely better in Prakash's, a few... More

AMBIENCE: 3/5 – Aaswad is located at the prime location in Shivaji Park with enough visibility to attract the patrons. They also have an adjoining shop with caters a wide range of dry and fried snacks. I had to wait for almost 15 minutes on a Thursday late afternoon. I really liked the enthusiasm of the crowd waiting outside for... More
