A friend and I went here for lunch on the recommendation of a list of the top restaurant in every Alabama county and this one made it for Chilton County. I wasn’t impressed. I had the cheese ravioli with bolognese sauce. It was okay. My...friend had the lasagna. It was a lot of noodles with very little cheese or sauce in between the layers of noodles. Since it was the supposed best restaurant in the county, I was expecting amazing so I was disappointed.More

We've been on the road for 5 days checking out different areas and have found many good restaurants. But, without question, this one is superior. It's small and nothing fancy or pretentious. We had the basil tomato soup which was obviously homemade and delicious. Soup...or a salad were accompanied by EVOO with fresh parsley for dipping. My friend ordered the cannelloni stuffed with a wonderful mixture of ground beef and vegetables hand rolled with sheets of pasta, and topped with mozzarella and their delicious authentic sauces. I couldn't pass up the eggplant parmigiana. Now I've consumed a copious amount of eggplant over the years, but I've never had anything this delicious. Why? Usually when you order eggplant parm, you are presented with eggplant sliced so thin you can barely see it and fried with a heavy covering of bread crumbs. But not here, my friend. Bertolone's dish is made with slices of eggplant - just plain non-fried eggplant - covered with their delicious sauce and mozzarella over penne. I was in heaven. I'm so glad we found this restaurant and wish that I lived nearby so I could visit them often.More

Such a delicious meal. Not overpriced and everything we had was delicious! Glad we don't live any closer or I'd need to invest in bigger clothes!

My husband an I met friends for dinner one evening last month and let me tell you, we LOVED it! The salads are a bit on the small side but that just leaves room for those wonderful entrees. I had the cannelloni and my husband...ordered the chicken parmesan. Both were delicious. (although I think the cannelloni was better). My friend ordered the raviolis and they WERE a bit skimpy, but I had plenty of cannelloni to share. We loved it so much my husband has decided we're driving the 45 minutes to go again tonight! Yay me!More

Visited 3 times. Disappointed every time with the salads. The original Joe's Italian was amazing. Bertolone's pales in comparison.

One of the best Italian restaurants I have visited. A true family built restaurant. You will not be disappointed!

Was expecting great things from all the great reviews. I thought the food was average. Price was reasonable. Service was quick.

Stopped by on the way through Clanton, and found it to be a good, fast lunch. The food was reasonably priced and served piping hot. $9.50 for the lasagna that was real good and filling. Only issue was the salad was extremely overdressed. Would definitely...return and recommend.More
