A great restaurant all around. We chose this place because we wanted to eat seafood. The location is right on the water and has a great ambiance. The food was phenomenal and was served by a great service staff that was friendly and attentive. Everything...we ate was delicious and perfectly prepared. Very affordable fine cuisine. Everything was delicious. I recommend the snapper ceviche and the shrimps with passion fruit sauce (OMG perfect balance ! ) The staff was adorable. My only regret was to hear about El Ultimo Refugio right before flying out the next day....Had I known I would have been eating there twice a day every day. This is such an amazing establishment. We were in Bocas for 10 days and had dinner twice there because the food was so incredible. The seared ahi and lobster risotto were to die for. It’s also on the water and has live music. Super fun...and recommended by the Bocas locals. Enjoy!!More

Refugio came highly recommended to us from many locals, but it seems we caught it on a bad night. To be honest, we arrived quite late - just after 9:30 - and they warned us that the kitchen was slow. We weren’t so much bothered...by the delay in getting our main course, as the fact that the food was only average. My mahi mahi was very tough and not tasteful; my wife’s food was better but not memorable. Perhaps we had too high expectations from the many recommendations that we got, and it was just the wrong time. We rate Arboloco as not to be missed and BiBi’s on the Beach as preferred as least from our visits.More

Restaurant is in a lovely location, and comes highly recommended, but we found the service lacking during our visit. Possibly this was due to us dining late (after 8), but from the time we ordered it took 90 minutes before our main dish arrived, and...no explanation from the staff. Food was good when it did arrive, but the service kinda undermined the experience.More

Excellent restaurant overlooking the water. The tuna was one of the best I’ve ever had. Entrance might look a bit odd but don’t let that hold you back 😉

Whenever we travel to Bocas, this is the first stop for dinner. The restaurant overlooks the water. The atmosphere is perfect for a wonderful dinner. The seafood is fresh and delicious. Be sure to include this restaurant in your visit

Don’t let the front entrance deter you. Get through the door and the outside is right there! Great views, sunset. 7 of us, 2 disabled, seated immediately; not too crowded. Had the sangria, with passion fruit, yummy. All meals were raved and finished. Filet mignon,...seared tuna, pork tenderloin, passionfruit shrimp, fish tacos!!! About 1/2 hour, after our orders were taken, a group of 18 22 years olds came in, loud and noisy, but didn’t delay our meal. Poor woman was run off her feet. Masks and art on the wall were great!
