We found this place whilst looking for a cooking lesson in Tangalle. We agreed to go on the Friday night and arrived at 5pm to be met with a drink and a lovely history of the area from the host! We were giving a cooking lesson by the owners daughter who was really helpful (they accommodated my vegetarianism easily!), met... More

A very friendly and authentic place to eat. We really enjoyed the curry and juices - I'd advice you to try and call ahead as otherwise you might need to wait as they seemed to prepare everything from scratch (even going to the market to buy the pineapple!)

I am afraid to say that the previous reviews set this place on far too high a pedestal. Three of us arrived for lunch and basically the ingredients for everything we ordered - bar the potatoes for the chips had to be purchased first - the beers/ the fish/ the prawns. This meant that lunch was a lengthy business despite... More

Very good homemade quality food, sweet host and completely true surroundings right in their home. It was raining when we were there so we were inside. Can't speak of the outdoors ambience. Very enjoyable and far from being a normal alienating restaurant.

We were told by a friend that we must visit this restaurant whilst in Sri Lanka. It did not disappoint. Samen who runs it was delightful and the food was excellent. As with most Sri Lankan restaurants, you order one curry and with that comes at least another 5 sides. The food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Very simpel but the food tasted delicious. The family was friendly and the place was awesome. Located at the same side as the bus station.

We ate here January 2015. Located just off main road beside the football field, Prem is a small restaurant shaded by a palm roof and colorfully decorated inside. The food was 10/10, and reasonably priced for the quality and quantity. They also run a cooking school where you can learn to cook Sri Lankan food. The host as well was... More

The best food we had in Sri Lank, for sure. The food was delicious, and not expensive at all. The family is so nice, and so welcoming. We waited for one hour for the food, but it worth it. I definitly recomend this place, because we have been so many times disapointed in Sri lanka, specially in Tangalla. You should... More

We went to this restaurant on 3 separate occasions only to find it was closed. Wasted our time especially as we have 2 young children...they could have posted a note on the net...
