This place is a like cool palm tree in a hot jungle! The owner, Dilshan has created a unique atmosphere which is so chill it feels like you're on a beach, not in an alley. But I guess that's the 'secret'! Inside, a diverse crowd...of travelers chat away at white tables; each one covered with a pineapple. There is also a little balcony where locals play cards under bamboo while Bob Marley plays in the distance. The cafe has a wide selection of coffee, deserts, and even mac and cheese. But my favorite are the smoothie bowls. They are so beautifully made it's like looking at a work of art. It's almost a shame to eat them. For those of you looking to unwind after a day of sightseeing, Cafe Secret Alley is the place to go.More

One day I went there 17:15. Nothing to serve, out of everything on the menu but pancakes... So basically they close around 17:00, not 18:00. They told me to cone next day, I went there 08:30, not open because they still have nothing to serve....Opening time said to be 07:30. Really bad. They should go to the shop to get something to prepare, not wait for ONE car who is supplying them.More

Fine place to hide - really secret alley, but friendly staff, that announces with the smile, that they are almost out of all resources. But brownie, pancake and mushroom toast are great in hot days like this ;-)

I was so happy to discover this place in Kandy. It's really cute and full of great options. I liked the ambiance, vibe and location. It's nice how it's in the main area yet tucked away. Kudos to them for having coconut milk, a non...dairy option. I would also add soy milk and/or almond milk. I got the avocado salad and added tofu. This was extremely small and light. Barely any avocado and tofu, so a bit bummed on that. I rather pay more and get more of the expensive stuff. Other than that it did taste great and flavorful. Overall good option for healthy eats, just be mindful of serving sizes for some dishes. All the guys working there are friendly : )More

We struck out twice before getting eat lunch here - on two previous occasions they had run out of all food by mid-day. Either the food is amazing or they are terrible planners. The third time was the charm and I have to say, the...smoothie bowls were worth the wait! That said, you could probably skip the avocado sandwich (who still uses white bread???). The ambience was fun and because we were eating an early lunch, we had the place to ourselves.More
