Kod Mede is a restaurant located in Zajecar, a town in Eastern Serbia. We came hereto dinner with some friends and we arrived when almost the staff closed the restaurant, but they say us that no problem. However only it is possible to eat grilled...meat and it was as the best choice. We ate grilled meat and a Serbian salad as main dish, and we ate a baklava as dessert. Incredible! we did not expect this quality and the friendship of the staff/owners. Simple, but fantastic!More

Kod Mede is one of the best meat joints I have ever eaten anywhere in Europe period, and I have eaten in many European and non European countries in my 42 years. The restaurant is small and the decor/ atmosphere is meh!, but the food,...oh the food! Since I moved to Serbia, I have been eating a couple of times per month at Kod Mede and each time I have to make an 80km round trip from my place of residence, but it's totally worth it. Only meat is offered, in various forms according to Serbian BBQ cuisine, and there are a few salads as side dishes. The highlight is that the bread you are served, is every time baked just for you at the time of your order. Some reviewers complain about the prices, but for a 400gr pljeskavica (Serbian hamburger) with kaymak, 400gr of pork tenderloin, a small salad, 2 &1/2 pints of beer and a small juice, we paid 1900 dinars which is around 16 euro. If this isn't cheap I don't know what is (to be fair in Serbia you can eat the same portions for less elsewhere, but for most Europeans this is as cheap as it gets). Keep up the good work guys!More

I am not satisfied with this restaurant, I took it as a specialty of the house, but it's not even average, prices are not acceptable because they are in price range, for example, in many better-quality family restaurants in Crete. Wine is expensive and not...good with one word, thank you.More

You will find more beautiful decoration, more beautiful waitresses, more modern furniture l, but in my town you will not find more authentic ambient and better BBQ. Prices? For us 6, family dinner, with drinks, without sweetness, less than 50€ :)

Had the luck to get here with serbian friends. The restaurant is small, traditional and very authentic. Menu is written in kyrillic letters, so better you have someone to translate. The food is outstanding and the portions are non-human. Better to order one plate for...two people first.More

The place is really small so do make a reservation before you go (always full). Really delicious traditional food. The only problem is smoking inside.

One of the best restaurants in town ... Since the restaurant is very small (7-8 tables) recommended booking in advance, because it is almost always full ... Preferably to book today for tomorrow ... Whatever be ordered from the barbecue you can not go wrong...... Also try as an aperitif, quince brandy ... The ambiance is rustic and tastefully arranged ...More
