While the restaurant has a long tradition, its glorious days have obviously passed. We were a table of four, two of us got very fatty fillets of carp with stone-cold potato salad, the other two got breaded scallops of below-average quality. Particularly striking was a...waiter that left the impression of not being happy with us entering the restaurant. In the end, we even needed to go inside (although were seated outside) to pay the bill because a waiter was not coming for a good half hour. Needless to say, there was no goodbye when we were leaving. Avoid at all costs!More

Historical place, home of famous writer Jovan Sterija Popovic, or, to be more precise, basement of his house :) very unique place, ideal for wine serving. Most probably it was wine sotrage in the past. In front of the house there is enough parking spaces....Wine selection is great! But we have waited more than 40 minutes to get food. And, when it arrived, potato was cold :( Stuff is ok, polite and friendly.More

I was in Vršac two times, and both times I had a really great opportunity to visit this place. I am also proud that I had an opportunity to bring some international guests to this restaurant. First of all, food is great. Second, wine is...even better (this is the wine house, after all)! Menu is rich, all sorts of food are served. As you are waiting for your food to be prepared, you will get a free appetizer! Interior design is retro (what is expected if you ask me!). And yes, one of the most famous Serbian playwright, Jovan Sterija Popović is born in this very house.More

Traditional serbian food in a cosy location. The waiters were very friendly and asked us more than once if everything was ok. They always offer you something in addition to what you ordered for free from the house. The portions are large enough and they...taste delicious. We will certainly come again soon.More

A very nice restaurant with domestic cuisine. Also, it is situated in the birth house of the famous Serbian playwright Jovan Sterija Popović, so it has a historic value too. Cozy atmosphere, even though some of the plaster decorations look rather cheap when examined closely....Meal prices range from very cheap to slightly expensive but the portions are quite large so even with the pricier meals you get more than you'd expect. Since this is a wine house first and foremost, there is a very large choice of wines from all around Europe, quite reasonably priced - some bottles range up to several hundred € though, but I guess it must be worth it. The waiters are very suggestive (even a bit too much) and the sommelier is really good and is even willing to give a complimentary tour through the restaurant and wine cellar at his own suggestion. They must have a really small kitchen though since the service is a bit slow, but not too much. The biggest downside is that the toilet is outside and it's too cold in the winter and not as clean as you'd expect from a place like this. Other than that, a warm recommendation.More

Even it looks nice, it is a vine cellar, prices are too high for some regular vines, food is not so good comparing with the price range, waiters often charge some ridiculous expenses, such as broken glasses, or similiar, even if you didn't do it....Also they like to charg you some additional vine that you even bought it, etc.More

This is a well known place in the centre of Vrsac. It is in basement. In the evening it is more like a club with live music (on weekends) but during the day it is a normal restaurant. If you are looking for lunch in...the city centre at affordable price this is place to go. In case you are on a tight budget, there is daily menu with several domestic dishes at prices of 300 to 400din per person. As you can expect, this daily menu is nothing spectacular, but ok. There are also many other dishes to choose from: cold appetizers, soups, pastas, fish and grilled meat. Since this is a vine house, they have many draft or bottled vines to choose from. Service is ok.More
