I was today with my wife in cicvara. I paid 22€ for 2 portion and taste was terrible. I am from Montenegro and it was absolutely worst cucvara I have ever tries. My 8 months son would prepare better cicvara. Waste of money. I will...never come again.More

Restaurant located on the periphery of Podgorica, with a nice terrace and nice interior. Service was pretty good. I tried veal under the bell which was nothing special. Typically Montenegrin, large portions but without juiciness, softness, presentation and taste. I recommend it mostly to see...the ambient which looks like an old castle.More

This restaurant is large with indoor and outdoor areas. We tried the recommended roasted meat which was very nice, quite an intense meat experience! The oven roasted potatoes were also good. Large portions, but we should have asked for less (you can tell the waiter...how much you want, and we asked for the recommended 600g for two of us). Unfortunately no room left to try desserts. I've been in this restaurant plenty of times and I've always liked the location and the food. It has always been slightly more expensive than the average of Podgorica, but there are reasons and I never minded. Last Sunday I had the wedding there and...we agreed how to serve food and the menu with its fixed price. As agreed, drinks were calculated separately. After the party, going to pay, they prepared a ridiculous and unbelievable surprise: a bill for the drinks with the price almost the treble of the food. All the costs were evidently pimped and the voices calculated in an evident rounded way: 10, 15, 25, 40. No way that in any restaurant in Podgorica you can spend 45€ per person only for the drinks, also because many guests drank just water or soft drinks and juices. Once we asked please to double check and review the count, the answer was: "you had to put a person here at the register to control, you cannot complain now". No comment, we have been stupid trusting these people but never more. Please don't go there for big events or celebrations, you'll get robbed for sure. Your choice if to go at all on your own risk.More

The restaurant is built within old traditional village houses, so it is quite characterful. The food is good: Descent choice of traditional Montenegrin dishes, but the prices are somewhat high, in Montenegrin terms... All in all, it is a nice dining experience.

'Jagnjetina ispod sača' is the meal for lamb lovers. Veal tastes good as well but our favourite has been lamb always. This delicious meal is cooked under 'sach' (iron lid) with potatoes for minimum 3-4 hours. If you are going to this restaurant with group...of people, book in advance and tell them what you will have otherwise, as we have experienced, they may say 'sorry, we ran out of jagnjetina ispod sač'. Their young cheese and cold cuts we have ordered everytime we visited this restaurant.They serve traditional desserts but my personal favourite one is the homemade pie with cherry. Ask for a scoop of vanilla ice-cream for a moer pleasant feeling.More

I've been to Stara Kuca for a couple of receptions and once for dinner with a group. Their reservation system is not the smoothest (I tried making a reservation through the website, and it wasn't really clear that it went through), but the service and...ambiance are fantastic, and the food is really good as well. At one dinner we sat upstairs next to the fireplace - which is really great on a winter evening, so cozy! For the receptions, we were in the courtyard, which is also really fun.More
