My girlfriend and I have been traveling for a while and have been trying all sorts of places but this place takes the cake! We both really enjoyed the food and will probably come back again before we leave Saint Louis :)

My dinner at La Linguere was one of the first I had in Senegal and Gambia. At the time I thought about giving it 4 stars, primarily because the menu is just for decoration ("I'll have this one" "It's finished!" "This one then" "Nope!"), but the yassa poulet I had there is still the best dish I've had in Africa.... More

This place is popular for a reason. Good location in the middle of the island, friendly service and convivial atmosphere. Food took longer to arrive than most tieb shops, but the yassa was worth the wait. Most of the seafood and toubab dishes on the menu were not available by the time we ate (2:00ish), so perhaps not the best... More

This place is a local place that uses all clean water, being conscious that tourists can't drink the local water. The yassa poulet and other dishes I tried were amazing. I highly recommend this place and I would definitely return. The owner is great also!

The restaurant La Linguere next to the Hôtel de la résidence caters to lokals and tourists a like with a menu focused on Senegalease dishes as well as some international classics. Coming highly recommended I ordered Yassa Poulet and was somewhat disappointed. While the rice was good and the sauce had just enough onions and acid the chicken was dry... More

Best grilled fish i ever had an also the Senegalese Food is absolutely amazing. Each night we had three different meals and couldn't decide what was the best of it. And also the people there were very inviting and friendly.

It was a bit tricky to find it , the google maps location isn't 100% accurate, but after some walking around I found that hidden gem. The place serves simple Senegalese food , but it was so good. I had 4 meals there, the various chickens are the highlights of the place. The little guy working there was first a... More

This is where you get best value for money on the island, and the best mafe or yassa pollute! If you're into the dishes of the day, you will be served fast, even if the place is crowded. And often it is and for a reason. Highly recommended!

Friendly service and good, wholesome Senegalese food. Clean and simple restaurant around the corner from Hotel Battling Siki. We liked the yassa poulet, yassa poisson and the grilled fish the best. The prawns were also tasty. The calamar a L'americaine was less good. Nice to be a in a place where locals and tourists intersect as this is not too... More

We found a blend of locals and tourists in this restaurant, which is good, in my opinion, as the locals would skip it if it was only a touristy place, and the flow of foreigners demands a high level of service and quality. They do not sell beer but you can buy one at a nearby shop and sip it... More
