Me and my friends went here a few days ago and I was really pleasantly surprised with how delicious and flavoursome the food was. I had a trig chicken soup and my friend got the cheapest soup on the menu at 8 soles. Both soups were wholesome, filling and well balanced. My boyfriend had pork which was risky but it... More

After a long overnight bus ride and some morning sightseeing, we stopped here for lunch. Very popular with locals (always a good sign). I was desperate for some comfort food, a soup. I ordered llunca con gallina, amazing!! One of the most delicious soups I've tried. My husband had fried trout, which was delicious too. Days later we returned for... More

Went there for lunch. Mostly visited by locals. Good price for menu: 10 soles. Some potatos entree followed by soup, then chicken with fries and rice, mini dessert, you also get a fruity beverage.

We've been here on the 24th of december, it was not busy and we had a lovely and romantic dinner. The staff was friendly, we had a good service and all food was pretty nice! We had an apetizer and 2 big main course (meat and chicken), plus half/liter of sangria! The food was local from Huaraz! Nice day!

Always when we were coming back from a mountain trip we were already dreaming about late dinner at El Fogon - a well done chicken (in every possible way you want, grilled, saute, cordon blue etc.), big portions plus french frice and a nice price (not to expensive, quater of the chicken, 12 soles) that was it what we wanted... The food was good not great. This was a good choice just not anything to write home about. Atmosphere was okay too, a typical Peruvian grill and chicken restaurant.

Wow! What a find. El Fogon is great. It's mainly frequented by locals but don't let this stop you if concerned about quality or pre climbing hygiene. This place is clean, the staff incredible, English menu's and food incredible. Vegetarians might be disappointed at the choice of 2 pastas but carnivores will love the steaks. Chorizo also great. Fantastic wine... More

Delicious food (especially the chicken), great service! The food arrived fast and the prices are reasonable for this kind of restaurant.

El Fogon has great options. Great Peruvian food, great lemonade. They have a large room for bigger parties and many big plate options to share. Their chicken, steak and pork chops are all good options. It's location is good (on the main drag, near the plaza, second floor). Go try it out!

Definitely a locals favorite. The "menu" (fixed price 3 course offering) was delicious and incredibly cheap. Just arrive before 2. Made the stop here several times, for dinner as well.
