We had lunch at this restaurant and the food was delicious!! We were surprised by its simplicity and tastiness. Strongly recommend trying the cheese salad, the kefta and the aubergine lasagna (it’s a must!!). We liked it so much that we went back for dinner,...too! Great service and nice and peaceful view from the terrace.More

We love chefchaouen but we was always and always disappointed by the food . But this time we was surprised how the food it's amazing in el Jaleo . it's a Moroccan with a special touch , you can feel the passion and the delicacy...through every bits . Without mentioning the stunning view and the perfect service that we had . For sure one of the Best restaurant in Morocco .More

I don’t know how they got this high rating but I’ll write my horrible experience. I ordered the smoked meat which they told us it was fresh, but it turned out to be reheated and tasted awful. Toilet and washer are from stone age not to mention that they provide you with a dish soap as a hand soap. Anyhow we were a group of 5 and 3 of us vomited on the way back to Tangier. To be fair, the waiter was super friendly and nice.More

I went with my wife and my 2 years old kid. Since the begining, you can see that this is a magical place. They gave us some colors and a paper so my kid could draw. The quality of the food was amazing. We ordered,...cus cus, a traditional lamb, and a typical moroccan soup, with 2 juices. we payed US$ 17. The quality of the food was amazing!!!!!!! The service was great. We recommend it as a MUST to go.More

El Jaleo is tucked away near the waterfall. We went for dinner on a cold, rainy night, and the restaurant was warm and inviting. They had a fire going and were very welcoming. We started with the El Jaleo appetizer and for the mains had...the aubergine lasagna and the kefta tajine. They also brought out olives and a delicious spread before the meal. Everything was absolutely amazing. It's a must for anyone going to Chefchaouen!More

Good dinner throughout. We started with the fruit smoothie as we waited for the food to be served and it was nice. First came the 9 vegetable cream soup which was fantastic for a chilly night. Next we had the steamed lamb and vegetarian lasagne...and both tasted great. We ended off with the Berber coffee. I usually don’t drink black coffee but this really tasted different with cinnamon and cumin and worth trying. Ps: do note that the restaurant only started serving dinner from 7pm. It’s closed between 5-7pm.More

Just a few tables with decent, not gourmet (gourmet was not expected) food. Eggplant lasagna was good enough to order again. It was all OK...you could do worse in other venues in town...and we did.

We had lunch in the garden and it was very good. We ordered a couple of salads and they were refreshing and well prepared. Nice shadow even in a hot day. For some reason, Google Maps indications made us walk more than necessary, the restaurant...is located by one of the bridges over the river.More

My friends and I had an excellent meal at El Jaleo. Nora’s lamb, chicken birwat and eggplant lasagna (almost a moussaka). All delicious and beautifully presented. We started with some grilled vegetables, baba ganoush and a steamed pumpkin dish that was spectacular. Everything was perfectly...seasoned and delighted the taste buds. Next time I’m in Chefchaouen I will definitely dine here again.More
