For sure the best place where I have eaten on the Small Island of Perhentians, though I only tried around 4 other places. But as soon as I ate here I didn't want to take chances any more and eat somewhere else. The food is very delicious and comparably cheap. For example the Mee Kari or the Nasi Goreng are... More

The one place between Long Beach and Coral Bay with a lot of seats. The place is not cozy at all though, the lights are bright white tubes, you sit on plastic chairs at picknick tables. Service is slow, but food ok. Wifi doesn't work. I wouldn't really advise anyone to go there. Prices are moderate, but not the aspect... More

This place is located just at the back of Ombak Resort, at the start of the overland route between Coral Bay and Long Beach. I have eaten here a few times while walking about the island while doing volunteering work in Perhentian Marine Park. Generally found it an ok place and good value for money. I don't usually use wifi... More

We went to Ewan's on the recommendation from a local and she definite led us to a great place. After a bunch of not so great and overpriced meals on the beach at Long Beach this was a welcome change. My girlfriend ordered the seafood Tom Yum soup with rice and it was delicious and extremely spicy. We like spicy... More

If you hate paying too much for good decent food, don't look any futher, go to ewan's. We went there every day because it is so good. Don't count on the free wifi, it's so slow.

We found the food quite lacking on the island. Everywhere we ate on the beach was very expensive for th very little food you get. Ewan's cafe has an awesome menu both at dinner (malay) and lunch (western). The Malay food especially was delicious and you get much more food for cheaper prices compared to the rest of the island.... More

As anywhere on Perhentian, the prizes are going up a lot. Lodging and restaurants being the biggest contributors for the prize hikes in the past few years. I'm on the island at least once a year, and just came back a few days ago, and again it amazed me how expensive everything became. Ewan is no exception. I do know... More

The best food we had so far in Perhentian Kecil. Worth the hike across from Long Beach - about 10mins

Great food, very reasonable prices, fantastic staff, clean restaurant, lots of fans to cool you down, no nickel-and-diming on napkins or ice or anything like that. Probably the best place to eat on the island. The only downside is that it's not on a beach, but halfway between Long Beach and Coral Bay. Still, worth the walk.

We came here 2 days ago looking for nasi lemak, nasi ayam, mee goreng... as advertised on the signs on the outside of the restaurant. It is not so easy in this island to find traditional Malay food and good prices; this place seemed to have it all. But we just found out that the cook had gone into mainland... More
