...don't let the great location fool you. This resort has very little to offer - in fact it has no food to offer beyond breakfast!

Thus came up as best place for food, which is unfortunate since they only "serve food for themselves" apparently. A nice place for a drink in the day - as long as they are open!

The captain has a great place, but over the years he built the reputation of a weird scary person. At arrival all started lovely, but a day after this ' captain ' ( a retired employee of Shell at Sarawak, who built the long house many years ago to have a getaway for him and his friends for divingtrips )... I am reviewing both the longhouse and cafe. The minute u arrive, Shah the keeper will greet you with 'make yourself at home' and that's exactly how we felt. The best feature of the long house would be the balcony where its comfy and we can just stare at the blue sea and skies while listening to sound of nature.... More

This place has one of the best locations on the island - right at the end of the beach and shaded by palms. Lots of hammocks to hang out in, and food served pretty much all day - affordable and some great dishes. Beer is not always available, and 10rm for a small can, so I would recommend to bring... In general the guesthouse is located in the best beach in the island, because we have a west side island walk north and south. The... More

We stayed in the island for 4 days and this was where we stayed The hostel itself is very close to the beach, right next to it actually, full of hammocks and just perfect one for chilling. You will love the calmness of this island.

Just returned from a 3 night stay in the dorm at the Longhouse. It's located directly next to the beach, a rustic wooden building in the jungle with a small bar, lots of hammocks and place to chill out. Except breakfast no food is available but there is a very good restorant right next door. Staff is very kind and... More

My husband and I were booked at nearby Kapas Island Resort which did not serve beer. So we decided to walk over to Captain's Longhouse to get some. Unfortunately, and contrary to what others in Tripadvisor reported, beer or any alcoholic beverage is not served anymore.

We chanced across this interesting and rustic joint at Kapas Island, its beach bar, friendly crew and lively dog "jane",,,its known as Capt's Longhouse or previously as "The Lighthouse" cas. of its location beside the island's lighthouse. Food was alway a surprise and you eat together as a family with the owner himself Capt. Shariff Abbas plus his crew, Kalid,... More
