Hello Lookingforthegood: Thank you for the opportunity to respond. I will open by asking do you ever read your own reviews? I read all of my replies before sending them. You state that your review was “Average” then suggest that your review might be construed as “bad” but in the same sentence you say again that your review was “average”. I just read my reply in its entirety and I do not find a single word of complaint about your 3-star rating, not one. You suggested that I read all 100 of your reviews. I’m a very busy man and I don’t have time to do that. You have actually written 103 reviews (5-Excellent, 38-Very Good, 28-Average, 22-Poor, and 10-Terrible) so the 3-Stars you gave us is certainly average for you. I did have time to read your 5-Excellent and 10-Terrible reviews. Let’s take a look at your 5-Excellent reviews: 1) A bar that serves cheap beer, 2) A bar with 25 cent beer, 3) The cheapest place to drink in Pattaya, 4) A train that charges 50 baht for a 260 km trip, and 5) A bar with low prices. Do you see a pattern? Now for the 10 1-Star reviews: 1) A guesthouse with a barking dog and stupid management, 2) One about Duty Free that I honestly don’t understand, 3) A place that couldn’t play the TV News with subtitles to your satisfaction, 4) A Tourist Boat Scam that has more than 1,000 5-Star reviews on TripAdvisor, 5) An elephant that killed a tourist where you were charged 500 baht while Thais were charged 200 baht, 6) Sewage, beach chairs, and rats on Pattaya Beach, 7) Another place where foreigners were charged more than Thais for admission, 8) A Cambodian restaurant where you were overcharged by $1.00, 9) A guesthouse with a fan, a light bulb, a poor TV, and a dog barking, and 10) A Pattaya Floating Market where foreigners are charged 200 baht while Thais are admitted free. Is there a pattern here? Does anyone think that Macky’s Riverside Kitchen a First Class Establishment? We have 165 TripAdvisor Reviews; 56% are Excellent, 29% are Very Good, 12% are Average, 3% are Poor, and 0% are Terrible. I rest my case. You are entitled to state your opinion of our restaurant and I am equally entitled to respond to your opinion. We agree to disagree. Do I overreact sometimes? Maybe. Are you overly opinionated and critical sometimes? Maybe. Are there “better western breakfasts to be had in the area”? Maybe. That’s a matter of opinion. You have yours and I have mine.
