Reservations are essential! We do not serve à la carte, hence there is no menu. We offer one sitting called Trust the Chef. If you do not make a reservation, we will not be able to host you! Trust the Chef is not suitable for young children. The Gallery Restaurant affords stunning views and fine dining on the hillside overlooking Mae Haad and Sairee bays. The panoramic views open up to the best sunset vantage point on Koh Tao. Although our venue is simply spectacular, it is and always will be, all about the food. Traditional, authentic, gourmet Thai cuisine at its very best. The Gallery Restaurant offers Trust the Chef set seasonal menu dining experiences. Dining is available by reservation only, at least one full day in advance. Please read the details on our website before contacting us for availability, enquiries and reservations.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks to the entire gallery team for an unforgettable evening. We were taken on a journey throughout Thailand and were able to find out which culinary highlights come from which region of the country and what makes them so special. Believe me, dear readers, you will never forget something like what you can experience at the gallery. The quality was impeccable, the hosts were more than charming and the location was authentic and cozy. Anyone who is willing to leave a little more money and gets a seat (make sure to reserve) will be talking about the Trust the Chef menu for a long, long time. What a fabulous journey from start to finish! My wife and I have been in the hospitality industry for 30 years and when we are on holiday love to seek out something special, unique & memorable.
If you are looking for spring rolls, huge plates of Pad Thai and generic red curries (whilst nothing wrong with that) this may not be for you. For us, however We struck "Gold"
From the moment we arrived at the gold bar for pre-dinner cocktails and to enjoy the imminent sunset overlooking the bay & Sairee beach we felt relaxed and welcomed. The tree top setting and tunes from the resident dj sets the tone for the night of culinary excellence that awaited us.
Owners Chris & Chef Pbu (and their fantastic team) took us on a 10 course tasting menu from around Thailand that was presented and cooked from the heart. Their added knowledge, and story telling (often very humorous) really complimented our experience. Everyday is a school day and all that!
There is so much I could write about but I believe the magic works without not knowing too much about what awaits you. Hell, Chris didn't even know the menu until the gong had chimed for supper.
If you are in to food, open minded and willing to embrace the experience - Believe me - "Trust the Chef" and go. We arrived as guests and left feeling like we had been welcomed into a new family!

I discovered this restaurant originally in June 2018 when it was in a different location on Koh Tao and we were blown away by it then. We loved the concept of going “off piste” and Trusting the Chef.
Returning nearly seven years later to their new home overlooking Sairee Beach,my expectations were high - and we were not disappointed!
We had the most amazing culinary experience last night, so much so, we’re booked in again for tomorrow night.
We had a 10 course dinner extravaganza presented impeccably by outstanding staff and we were guided through each course by the owner, Chris who described in loving detail the history of each dish.
The magic that his beautiful wife, the chef, produced was truly amazing.
I highly, highly recommend The Gallery - an experience you will not forget in idyllic surroundings.

Review of The Gallery Restaurant – Koh Tao
The Gallery Restaurant on Koh Tao is an experience unparalleled! It’s the perfect combination of a professional, high-end restaurant and the warm, homey feeling of being in the kitchen for someone who really wants food.
Chris and his wife (who is behind the fantastic food) have created a place where guests not only get served food – they get a culinary journey. We trusted their concept, Trust the Chef, and it was undoubtedly the right choice. Each dish was a flavor explosion, made with love, precision and a deep understanding of raw materials from all over Thailand.
In addition to the food, the atmosphere is completely magical. The restaurant has a stunning view, and enjoying the sunset here makes the experience even more special. The entire team is incredibly welcoming and creates a relaxed yet exclusive atmosphere.
Another thing that really emphasizes the quality here is that they do not push drinking. They serve fantastic drinks and wines, but their focus is primarily on genuine Thai food – demonstrating how dedicated they are to delivering an authentic taste experience.

In one word: Fabulous.
We were lucky that we could reserve a table only two days before the diner. It was the last table and my birthday (best present ever).
The location halfway a hill with sight on the sea is fantastic with a small restaurant and a bar.
The live DJ Marchelo with his down tempo Chillout deep techno creates a relaxing atmosphere (I still listen to his music on mix-cloud)
The host, Chris, welcomes you by name and plays a pivotal role during the 4 hour diner by taking you on a journey through the history of Thai Recipes.
Most intriguing is the menu, there is none, just Trust the Chef who is the star of the evening. Each dish is balanced in seasoning and often results in an explosion of flavours instead of just spicy by peppers.
This was not just a diner, it was an experience creating memories with the family we will never forget

We booked the trust the chef evening which is a 10 course tasting menu and it was absolutely exceptional! Each course takes you on a journey through Thailand. Most of the food served is not now available in mainstream restaurants and is now only cooked by families at home. The food was delicious and both the food and its presentation was akin to that in a Michelin star restaurant. The owner Chris gives a narrative between each course regarding the food and its origin which was particularly interesting. The Gallery is set high up on the island with breathtaking views of the Gulf of Thailand. The setting and ambience of the venue, the food and the mood music provided by resident DJ Marcelo all made for an unforgettable evening. Chris, and his wife Pu - the head chef, made us feel very welcome and their hospitality, and that of their team, was first class. In our opinion, the tasting menu we experienced at The Gallery is definitely on a par with any Michelin starred restaurant we’ve visited in UK.

I’ve been to Thailand many times and this was by far the best traditional Thai dining experience I’ve ever had. If you’re in Koh Tao, and want to try something new, or are celebrating something, you absolutely have to come here. This was not just a restaurant, but a journey through Thailand’s regional cuisine, cooked and served with love.
We were asked to arrive at the gallery early for sunset cocktails, which were creative, delicious and not your standard cocktails - very generous alcohol pouring too! The view is stunning and the whole vibe and atmosphere was lively and unique with their own dj, who was amazing. We were then taken upstairs and seated for our meal. We indulged in 10 courses, and as each dish came out, we were told a story about the origin and history of the food we were about to eat. Not only were the stories informative, but funny and had us hooked.
I can’t thank Chris, the owner, and his wife, the head chef, and all the staff at the gallery enough for the most memorable experience.
I could write this review without mentioning their lovely little dog who was the friendliest little girl I’ve ever met and loved cuddles - always a bonus!!

Wonderful experience in a stunning atmosphere. We were greeted by Chris, staff and family which complimented the personalized dinner with the Chef. The food was outstanding and coupled with the information about each plate really enhanced the meal. The description of each plate and how it utilized local fresh foods and herbs made me appreciate the culture and history of the food. If you enjoy exquisite food and want to learn about the culture and history of Thai food I would highly recommend getting reservations while visiting.

Unreal experience from start to finish. The lay out & location of the bar / restaurant is absolutely amazing, as were the cocktails. Chris is a lovely host & all round lovely guy, his wife (the chef) creates some unreal dishes, some of the best I have ever had. I loved how much detail & explanation went into each dish & you can really tell how passionate the chef is and how much she loves to create & serve you this amazing food. Would 1000% recommend this if you are ever in Koh Tao, was a really lovely night. Thank you so much for having us & keep doing what yous are doing. ☺️❤️

A fantastic experience that is recommended when visiting the island. The place itself is beautifully situated with a magical view. All dishes are presented in detail by the host and everything is proper authentic Thai dishes as you hardly find elsewhere. Highly recommended!

Cool location, slightly elevated on the island of Koh Tao, with a great view of Sairee Beach and the sunset. The Gold Bar is great for a few drinks and a nice cigar (which you bring with you). The meal is a ten-course meal with various very traditional dishes from all over Thailand, which are still regional or found among the people on special occasions, or not anymore. The wine is exclusively Thai, but the Sauvignon Blanc (on tap) is highly recommended. Very warm and very attentive service. Also from the host and the food, even if very special, with a lot of love and very well thought out. It is important that someone in the group speaks English very well. Incredibly nice experience, with detailed guidance through the menu, which always adapts to seasonal availability. Not exactly cheap, but definitely worth it, as a lot of work goes into it. If you pay by credit card, an additional 5% is simply added. It is also important to reserve at least a whole day in advance!!!
Conclusion: highly recommended if you want to broaden your horizons and try new things.

We loved The Gallery when we visited Koh Tao 4 years ago, and it was great to visit the new venue, which is in a different location. The concept is different to other restaurants on the island- you start with drinks at sunset in the Gold Bar, before moving upstairs to the restaurant, where you experience a 10 course menu made up of small dishes from around Thailand. The ingredients are all locally sourced and all the dishes and their history are explained. We really enjoyed this, it was a lovely treat at the end of our honeymoon, and we had a fantastic evening. Chris, the Chef and the other staff are all really welcoming.
Yes, it’s more expensive than other restaurants on the island, but you simply cannot compare this experience to other restaurants on Koh Tao- there is nothing else like this on the island. You must book in advance and the evening (including cost) is explained when you book, so you know exactly what to expect.

It’s hard to put words to how fantastic this experience was. Authentic Thai food, great stories and fabulous hosts.
We went for dinner on Christmas Day as a family. Chris and his wife welcomed us into their home and created a wonderful experience with a stunning tasting menu taking us around dishes of Thailand.

This restaurant sits atop a little hill on the lovely island of Koh Tao. Watching the sunset from here was magical and the Golden Bar serves very good drinks to go with the breathtaking view. The food was sensational and allows customers to fully immerse themselves in the culinary delights of Thailand. Moreover, throughout your meal you are guided by Chris and his team who explain in great detail the ideas behind each dish and the ingredients that are used. An absolute must for great food and wonderful hosts.

Incredible. Best meal/ experience in Ko Tao since the last time we ate here two years ago.
We were personally greeted by Chris the owner and watched the incredible sunset over Sairee Beach from way up a mountain in the restaurant suspended above the jungle. The professionally trained staff were attentive to every detail and took great care of us.
The 10 course chefs choice meal was extremely tasteful, fun, educational and memorable.
We can’t say enough about the experience, other than when on Ko Tao it is definitely a “must do” ! Book early because there was a waitlist when we were there and he was sold out during high season, weeks in advance !
