GOA, goes back many centuries in history and was once the Rome of the East! A meeting point of East and West - a confluence of varied cultures, philosophies, religions and beliefs, where civilizations of the Occident mingled with those of the Orient. A legacy of this vibrant Past is Fontainhas - Asia’s only Latin Quarter. Located in the capital city of Panaji, it’s winding alleys and quaint by lanes, old portals, run down houses and decaying mansions stand testimony to a grand era long gone by! Having been part of this romantic Latin Quarter pantheon for well over a century, the Panjim Inn, Panjim Pousada and Panjim People’s are three lovingly restored heritage hostelries which provide old world

Its a very quiet place in a very classy neighbourhood! It compliments well your Fontainhas walking tour. The food is delicious yet the atmosphere takes all the credit. Must try the desserts and the cocktails.

Loved this place especially as is the only outdoor restaurant I could find in Panjim. Good food in the old part of Panjim and wonderful staff. Was lovely to sit outside enjoy the breeze and views of the historical buildings.

Delightful surroundings, very helpful and attentive staff, the food was excellent and freshly made (A short wait-15 minutes which was made clear beforehand). Definitely a good address in Panjim! If we come back to How we will come here again.

I've been kind with my rating because this is a pleasant place to sit. Our lunch was average - we shared a plate of fried calamari for starter and then followed with prawns in garlic butter. The prawns came covered in a strange thick sauce,...More
