Ended up eating three times at this restaurant as we loved it so much.
Such a beautiful, quiet location with great service.
The manager, Hedrich, provided us with so much interesting and useful advice about the local area.
All of the meals were very tasty and...not kilojoules laden.
Will certainly return if we stay at the Caravela Homestay again.More
Had a wonderful lunch and looked after by Heidrich, who was great. The ambience is charming and old style. One of the rooms with writing on the wall is fascinating.
Ordered the prawn curry, which was delicious. Loved the fried prawns which come separately. The...vegetable xacuti was fine and the chicken steak was very good as well.More
This is a lovely restaurant, quite quirky and with a lovely ambiance. There are some tables situated on small terraces, overlooking the street - very romantic. The food was very good and the service excellent, our waiter was very attentive. Price was also very reasonable....Worth a visit if you are in Panjim.More
I liked the Portuguese influence at the place. It was cosy and the service was relatively good. I was not too impressed with the Pork Vindaloo. For me the Sanna was the hit (as a true blue Goan would love it).
I thought that Portuguese flavour plus Indian one would be spectacular. What a shame here. We order two of the specialties: fish venite and fish with tomato sauce. The cheapest fish probably from the freezer. The sauces could have saved it but no. Few rice...few vegetables and a tiny salad. Expensive for what you can find.More
We stay around 45 mins away and always visit Panjim for lunch once on our annual visits. We wanted a change to our usual Indian place. Using trip advisor we found this. Great atmosphere, location and service with good if not exceptional food. Portions a...little small for the prices charged.
Feel maybe better in the evening with snacks and drinks rather than full meal. Not sure what tapas is in Portuguese!More
We've always enjoyed our meals at Venite, which is why we decided to host a dinner party here. They have a very nice little room that made a nice setting for the dinner, with a table laid for 8. The walls are covered with imaginative...graffiti and the music was just right: swinging and not loud, but the food was a disappointment. The salsa stir-fried shrimp and the garlic butter bread were good, but the pepper steak was dry and tough and the pasta was easily the worst I've had to date. It was bland and had no seasoning, not even salt. The food just wasn't up to scratch, was a let-down, and it embarrassed us as hosts. Given that there were hardly any diners in the place at the time, it wasn't as if the chef was rushed off his feet and unable to give of his best. It was more like he just didn't make the effort. I have to say that our server Alex was attentive but that didn't make up for the bad food.More
Such a great welcome, and snuggled into the balcony for super food - not special, but great taste and value, plus superb service and advice. So quaint and cosy, a perfect spot in this part of Goa (Panjim) - not only are the staff friendly,...but the place attracts a chatting and fun clientele.
You can get great cocktails, plus local and more 'international' food. So if you want your local Indian cuisine it's possible, but there is also some food for more mainstream eaters to enjoy.More
