We walked in with a large party and we're accommodating quickly with welcome! We were thrilled with our dining experience. From start to finish, our service, cocktails, apps, dinner and dessert were phenomenal! We sample most of the menu, and everything single thing was fresh, flavorful, well plated and absolutely delicious! Our server Osman was friendly, knowledgeable and kind- we were beyond impressed and so so happy! We will definitely be back during our stay to sample their lunch menu! Also- the place was absolutely beautiful, verdant, relaxed and comfortable, right on the beach. Well done 🙏

Denry and the staff were amazing. 12 of us came in without a reservation and they were able to seat us with minimal wait. Food was so fresh and delicious! Drinks were unique. They served us family style and we tried a large variety of fish (red snapper, lobster, shrimp, conch, etc), duck, octopus, ceviche, mushroom risotto with beef tenderloin, fresh fried plantains, salad, pork belly, tuna tartar, and homemade tortilla chips. Highly recommend!

Our group of 12 stopped at the sunken fish for lunch and a cocktail and were so happy with everything we starting planning another visit. Everyone greatly enjoyed their cocktail and food with the ceviche being the biggest hit. Great views, drinks, food and wonderful service from our server Denry! Denry even made sure to get the kids food orders in ASAP.

We seldom eat in the same place twice when we travel, but an all-inclusive package at Tanquilseas Eco Lodge meant that we ate all our meals for a week in the Sunken Fish restaurant. We explored the entire menu -- breakfast, lunch, and dinner -- and didn't find a clinker in the bunch. We weren't even tempted to leave the resort to try meals elsewhere. The service staff were all so warm and helpful, and the views, particularly at sunset, were brilliant. Why go elsewhere? My favorites were the seafood pasta for dinner and the baleadas for breakfast. If you are in the area around Sandy Beach, do yourself a favor and give the Sunken Fish a try.

Wow! Great dinner and great view. We chose this restaurant based on reviews and were not disappointed. We ordered the ceviche appetizer and our server very helpfully told us it was very large, and we may want to wait to order our mains. She was right! The ceviche was delicious, fresh, and came in a goblet the size of a goldfish bowl, served with crisp plantain chips. Following that we split a main of seafood fettucine and were completely satisfied. Two beers, and $28 USD later - the best meal at the most reasonable price we've seen in ages.

The menu has changed since the last time we were here and it has changed for the better! Everything we ordered was delicious, fresh, and flavor forward. Highly recommend anything with tuna or shrimp because it was cooked perfectly and paired with the best sauces. We will for sure be coming back again and again, and requesting Harry and Osman as our servers.

My family and I visited Sandy bay, in Roatan Honduras. Our rental house was just a quick 5 minute walk down the beach from The Sunken Fish.
Although the food is absolutely amazing and the environment is perfect for getting a cocktail with beautiful views, Miguel made our dinning experiences top notch, he gave us the best service each time we came in.
If you saw, yes we went multiple times. Once for breakfast, twice for dinner, and one drink and appetizer sesh. Awesome food, unbelievable views, and amazing service!
Try the fresh lemonades, ceviche, calamari, and the whole fried fish, you won’t be disappointed!!
Will definitely be back when we come back to this island!

my family and I stayed at the blue bahia which is just a few doors down and tried this place for dinner on a saturday night… we weren’t prepared for the meal we got. it was BBQ night and we decided to go family style… the amount of food we got could’ve fed an army. it was beyond everything we could’ve thought of… every single dish we got was out of this world. the flavor and attention to detail was different than anything i’ve ever experienced. we ended up going back for a total of 3 times because it was just that good… the ambiance, the staff, the drinks, and most of all the food. franklin, osmond, and denry took care of us and made us feel like family. 100/10 recommend especially on saturday nights for BBQ night.

We had a party of six, great views but truly off the beaten path. We had the mixed ceviche with mashed plantain chips. One of our party had the red snapper filet. The snapper had a delightful Tuscan sauce. One member of our party had the octopus with chili adobo sauce which was quite a unique flavor. Another party had the pork belly and it was delicious. The other 3 of us had burgers, bacon, mushroom and a cheeseburger. They came on homemade brioche buns. Best burgers! With a great meat to bun ratio. Would have preferred thinner potato wedges. Overall an excellent meal. We did wait a little while for our food but the views made up for it!

We were staying next door at the Blue Bahia and walked a few 100 feet down the beach to the Sunken Fish. So glad we did. We ended up coming here for dinner 3 nights and enjoyed our meals immensely. The mushroom risotto with beef was superb as was my wife's lobster tortellini and the tuna tartar was also spectacular. Our waiter Franklin provided great service.

What can I say the view is amazing , the service friendly and quick , the dishes were all delicious !! Only gave a 3 star because when we received the check we were charged at 15 percent tax and also an 18 percent alcohol tax ! The menu clearly said the tax was included in pricing as well as the online menu … have yet to pay an 18 percent tax on alcohol yet in Honduras !! We even questioned the waiter about what the menu stated and the tax amounts was not taken off the cheque. Either way we tipped the staff of course but left a bad vibe with my group

Thank you for your review and great feedback on the view, service, and food. I thank you for your comments on the billing, I think that there has been a misunderstanding as the bills were not overcharged. The menu prices include all local taxes due. 15 % standard or 18% for alcohol. You will see this breakdown on the final factura due to tax requirements here in Honduras by the SAR department. The value that is charged on the bill equals the menu, which is broken down into base price, and tax price. When added together you get the menu price. As a business operating here in Honduras, we must follow the SAR regulations. Again I apologize for any misunderstanding. Tropical regards, Jordan

We came here for some appetizers and drinks and absolutely loved it. The location is amazing and the atmosphere is great. The food was so good and the drinks were unique and delicious. Our server Denry was excellent and we even had Osman the bartender come to our table to tell us all about the drinks and the stories behind how he came to create them. Definitely go here if you can - you won't be disappointed.

We loved the Sunken Fish! Every meal we had was fantastic with a beautiful presentation. All the staff were so friendly and fun and the menu had so many good choices (breakfast, lunch and dinner). The island vibe and views also make it one of our favorite restaurants in the world. We ended up eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner and there every day of our stay at Tranquilseas. We highly recommend the Sunken Fish!

Stayed at adjacent TranquilSeas Eco Lodge for a week and had breakfast each morning in this quaint restaurant along with a few lunches, dinner, deserts and cocktails. Staff is wonderful (shout out to Louis, Brian and Vanessa), food was good (w/nice selection) and drinks were cold and delicious. Its a wonderful place w/great view of the bay.
