On the site of a restaurant recommended in Bradt guide but this cannot be anything like the original. Informal is fine but this is just shabby and tatty. Menu uninspiring with the few potentially interesting options needing to be ordered in advance. Kebab rubbery and...tasteless, served on tepid undercooked chips. Moussaka pallid grey-green, made with potato and filled with rice to pad out the mince. Meanwhile the proprietor (or their partner) was enjoying a cigarette and a beer out of the bottle at one of the many empty tables. I find the other reviews very difficult to reconcile with our own experience.More

We visited because of TA reviews. It was just lovely, very reasonable prices with a welcoming hostess. Yummy breaded cheese starter. My husband wanted moussaka but this was not available. She gave us her details and asked for 24 hours notice and promised she would...make it. So we went back for a second night and had very tasty moussaka 😊More

Found this place by chance while walking through the old lanes of Ohrid. No tourist glamor but honest and friendly family restaurant. Quick service, good quality of homemade food. You feel welcomed from the first minute.

Fantastic food and a cosy, family atmosphere. Grilled vegetables are just excellent as well as the meats and fresh salads. Great service and very good prices.

The place is very colorful with national home cooking. The dishes are delicious, the prices are reasonable, I really liked the service. The hostess helped to choose the dishes and also treated homemade brandy(ракия). I highly recommend this restaurant!!!

Traditional food delivered by superb cooking. Dont be fooled by the modest interiors - this place delivers Micheline star expiry. Just ask for the chefs daily recommendation.

just now Wonderful!!! Shopska salad, meat mousaka, trout, and Ohrid cake were absolutely amazing. Of months of travelling the Balkans, this is top 3 meals I've had in the area. Very relaxed atmosphere, delicious traditional home cooking, GREAT service. Slightly off the beaten path and...doesn't outwardly appear like most touristic Ohrid restaurants, but 💯 worth the visit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDMore

The best homemade traditional Macedonian food in Ohrid, prepared by grandma' Tanja. The place is now named after her 'Kaj baba Tanja', Viva Ksantika is probably old restorant's name. Warm recommendation!

If you come to Ohrid you must go eat in Kaj Tanja. Very warm and domestic atmosphere. Briliant food all domestic. Family run restaurant, nice and warm people. We felt like we are in home.

We to this place while we were looking for good grill in Ohrid and we found out that this place has EVERYTHING. It has really good prices, everything is so delicious. We ate soup, salads, grill, they have the best domestic sheep cheese ever! From...now on, we are coming only to teta Tanja's restaurant. And the owner, she is so kind and respectful, we felt like we came to visit our aunt. This place keeps the spirit and the kindness of this country, don't miss it!More

There is a great choice of meals, everything we ordered was delicious. A small place, quite hidden but definitely worth it.

It is maybe a bit strange to highlight such a simple and basic thing as a bacon, but I never had a better one. Not even in US or UK which are obsessed with it. Must try it as an apetizer. By the way salad...and trout were delicious as well.More
