After stopping for late night drinks we decided to eat here the following evening as it is a beautiful spot from which to watch the sunset. We had calamari and fish both of which were perfectly cooked, tasty and plentiful,l not always the case. Prices...were average and service quick and very friendly. Recommended for simple tasty food.More
There is only one positive thing I can tell about the place: the service was fast. However they should have taken the time to serve our dishes. I ate grilled scampi and calamari, my partner a mixed shrimp salad. The salad was nothing special, just...the most basic salad mix with very little dressing no spices at all and they tossed 5 cold unseasoned shrimps in it. Tomato had no flavour except fot bitterness. The whole thing was sort of non fresh. Considering all these properties, it was way too overpriced (60 kuna, 10 euros).
My dish... well grilled calamari should be served with olive oil parsley and garlic, they really undershot the last ingredient, it desperatley needed more garlic. The scampi was all right but they didnt give us any equipment to get it out of the shell just a dull knife that didnt do the job. The biggest fail of all was the side dish, it was boiled potato and spinach. Once again it was lacking garlic that is unimagineable for me when it comes to spinach, but it also had a bad freezer taste, as it was kept in a freezer for months and then quickly melted it. The side salad had also a very bad stale taste, I dont think it was fresh. The saltshaker had only 5 small holes that didnt deliver any salt upon sgaking it, I had to take off the lid to get to it.
Buuut they did give us wet handtowels, which was quite a nice touch. Also the waiters were friendly. Still the food experience was barely acceptable at best.More
We visited on a very rainy but warm evening , but we were able to get a table under cover, but without being inside.
Very good helpful service. We enjoyed starters of fried cheese, which was breaded and melted beautifully and an excellent, fresh and...large prawn cocktail. We shared a large sea bass for our main course....which was simply grilled and then filleted at the table.
We had a really good Rosé wine, local, but tasted and looked Provençal, with a beer and water and the bill was about £75 which given the quality of the food, especially given the large sea bass, was excellent value.More
Liked it so much that I ate here 3 times in 1 week (the only reason not every night is that food was included on my excursions with Gulliver Travel). Top quality food and wine in welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Reasonable prices for area. What...more could you want?More
I was advised to try this restaurant that is a place where also the locals go and so on...but I was disappointed. The prices are not cheaper than the average for the same type of food. I have ordered a shrimps cocktail as a starter...and I had only salad with cocktail sauce to eat, shrimps were overall 3? Maybe 4! I was actually expecting more considering that in Croatia you can usually eat very excellent fish for low prices compared to other places in Europe. Though, if you go to this restaurant I recommend to ask for a table on the first floor close to the window because you have a nice view of the bay and the old town.More
