Excellent choice for a group of ten of us to come to after an energetic day’s walking,?with bags of character and a good ambience. Lots of space outside under awnings - which we didn’t need on the evening we were there, despite dramatic lightning storms...throughout. Good house red and white wine, and welcoming staff.More

Wonderful location and food. The best local produce in a simple, authentic way. Staff was very friendly and attentive, and I even met fellow travelers to spend the evening with.

The original in this part of town that their neighbours are trying to emulate with no success, this place is always more crowded for a reason. Great owners good food and sensible prices compared to others around them.

We had passed by Bacchus a couple of times and it really looked good and was buzzing with energy. So we gave it a go and went there after a long day on the boat. Food was truly the best: very tasty, rural, good food....Attentive and very friendly waiters too. But I guess we were too tired to fully enjoy it: drawbacks for us were the high chairs without back support, the loud music that made it hard to talk to eachother, the lack of air… Still ,would recommend the place, it was just not the right evening for us.More

Four of us visited today with a view to having lunch after cycling from Novigrad. Perusing the menu and we noted the 32Kn for 500ml local beer (we have typically paid 20 to 24Kn in equivalent locations). When the beers arrived three were clearly short-poured...(unusual in Croatia!) by which time we had realised the menu was well overpriced (e.g. similar to UK prices) and we would dine elsewhere. The lady that obviously ran the restaurant was unhappy when we decided to leave, and when I politely asked for the bill she said “Pay inside!” and rudely strutted off. I followed and she tried to take my credit card before even printing or stating what the bill was. Rude and arrogant proprietor of a restaurant which appears to thrive on milking the tourists - a great pity because our experience in Croatia so far cycling from Trieste to Porec has been an enjoyable experience. One to avoid !More

After wandering various streets and stumbled across Bacchus, a wonderfully shady spot with a great attentive team. We had a quick drink and return an hour later for lunch. Service great food and wine superb, the owners wife was superb, explained the olive oil with...our istrian platter. Certainly a place to revisit!More

Bacchus is a vinothek. Good food but not suitable for dining out. It does not have real sitting tables. I would suggest you get a Apero here but eat somewhere else. The problem are the small portions. Great service and free shots at the end...of the meal.More

A very nice wine bar/restaurant with a wonderful selection of Croatian wines located in the heart of the old town of Porec. What started of as a very promising experience was marred by incredibly unfriendly , rude and unprofessional lady staff member. When we arrived...the bar was at full capacity and a staff member was kind enough to provide us with one stool and two glasses of wine while we were waiting for a table to become free. The staff member informed us that a table would be available in approximately 10-15 min. After approximately 35 min as we were about to sit at the free table another lady staff member approached us and asked if we are having dinner or just drinks, at which point we informed her that we will be having only drinks i.e. wine because we had already had dinner. She then informed us that we cannot sit at the table because she then decided to place some people who came much after us but wanted to have dinner. We accepted this and went back to sitting at the stool that was provided to us outside the bar. After a while we requested that same lady if we could get some water because we were waiting outside in warm weather for over an hour and we complained to her that it has been quite a while that we have waiting for a place to sit, and if she could do something about it. At this point the lady became incredibly agitated and rude and abruptly took our wine glasses away and told us and I quote “you cannot finish your drinks, you must leave immediately from my bar” and she continued “people wait for an hour and a half and do not complain like you do” She was pointing wand waiving her finger and in a very unpleasant loud tone told us to get out. Me and my friend were in utter shock and disbelief proceeded to leave. A shameful end to what should have been a wonderful and pleasant evening.More

Today we tried this restaurant and we were really disappointed. We got a table and ordered drinks. They came just in time and we didn’t decided which meals we will order. So I told the waiter we need 5 more minutes. After 30 minutes of...waiting (we had eye contact with the waiter but he ignored it…) we decided to leave the money for the drinks and went to the next restaurant 5 meters away. Wine corner which we know since 3 years. Within 5 minutes we had our drinks and meals… Nothing more to say I guess………More

Great food and not expensive at all. Steak with truffle is a must. Staff is kind and nice. In my opinion, wines are not so good in this area (specially red).

It’s a nice and cozy place hidden in the end of a narrow street surrounded by one similar restaurant. We have chosen this as there were more people here than in the other one and it was a good decision. The food was huge (istrian...platter for one) with different types of meat, the wine was tasty and it was absolutely not overpriced. My biggest issue was, however, the toilet: upstairs with really narrow stairs and only fit for one person at the same time. It was nice and would recommend it but only for those who like to endanger themselves when going to the toilet.More
