A wonderful location with a breathtaking view, excellent changes of flawours, 2 cold appetizers that are part of the tasting menu were perfect, the main dishes could have a little more precise flavors, the dessert was excellently done.

Fortunate to have experienced this Michelin gem, set in the hills of Opatija where you can enjoy and savor authentic indigenous Croatian cuisine while soaking in the beauty of a panoramic view of the sea, mountains and islands from their terrace…. We were guests to...a very special friend , Mr Hubert Valdemoro who celebrated a milestone birthday last May 27, 2023. It was a white gloved service with delectable courses paired with exquisite wines. Each course was described in detail by the chef before being served. Superb service from professional staff, magnificent views, amazing cuisine and of course a special shout out to the chef that day …. (Just a heads up … to get to the breathtaking panorama you have to drive through a 20 min not so straight road from Opatija).More
Nice view and friendly staff. Not much more to that. Average food. Certainly would expect much more from a starred restaurant.
We booked a room for a night only. As soon as we arrived we found many hair on the bed, in the pillow and on the floor. They remade the bed but still there was hair on the duvet. So they changed our room and...“upgraded” it to a suite which at first sight was clean. When we went for a shower though we realized how the bathroom really was dirty. We found hair on the floor and a bathrobe from a previous guest hanging behind the door. Also, when we unpacked a new bathrobe we found a bundle of hair which was disgusting. The floor in general wasn’t properly clean and we also found hair on the armchair on the terrace. There, the sight that was waiting for us was one of a jungle - the pebbled terrace was invaded by weeds and insects. Also, the terrace was bordering a messy storage area which was unpleasant to see. In addition to that the pool was dirty too, full of bugs probably because of the faulty filter. On top of that, we were told that we could have a vegan dinner but the chef wasn’t really prepared to make it. The dinner was supposed to be 4 courser which it was but we ended up eating only one (raw kale soaked in vinegar), sending back the second and the third (which were one slice of raw and itchy aubergine with a bit of salad and tomatoes on top still soaked in a vinegar; and a slice of boiled turnip with still salad on top and still soaked in vinegar), skipping the forth as we were not hungry anymore after 2 hours of waiting. We wanted at least the dessert that never showed up. So at 22.40 we stood up and left. We told the staff we were disappointed so we left saying that we would have talked to the manager in the morning. Which we did - only to find out that the waiting staff didn’t communicate the issue. Due the overall negative experience we would expect to be offered room and dinner. Instead we were asked to cover 40% of the room and also to pay water and wine (which was barely two glasses) and that was 30€! Draga Di Lovrana boasts a high hand appearance and mannerism although in reality it would hardly qualify as a luxury or boutique hotel. They absolutely must step up the cleaning standard and make sure their guests leave happy. When the room is dirty and the dinner is so disappointing a happy guest is a guest who doesn’t pay at all. Even though the staff did something about our complains and the view is nice we still don’t recommend this hotel. We are sad to write a negative review but this is our real experience.More
This was 3rd time in last 10 years that I was in Draga di Lovrana, and for the first time I will give them excellent remarks. We had 7-course degustation menu and every meal was a rhapsody of the tastes. Thank you chef Luka Goleš!...You need to improve a little bit service stuff - different waiter, different offer....that cannot be. Also I was surprised to hear that there is no possibility of a-la-card order, though few days ago I read that restaurant offers degustation menus and a-la-card meals. Good that we were set in advance for degustation menus.More
from the aperitif to the dessert, it's a disaster in every way, except the bread and olive oil.... whoever gave this restaurant a Michelin star should have their license taken away/if that's even true that this restaurant has a M⭐️/More
Thank you for taking the time to review our restaurant. I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience. We don’t want anyone to leave our restaurant feeling like you have. I kindly ask You if You can tell me what was...More
They have special 5 or 3-course menus made by a master chef. Superb and pricy of course, but worth every penny. The wine card is excellent too.
This restaurant has a wonderful location and that's the only positive thing I can say about it. Unfortunately, on the evening we went, the high number of midges and other flying insects meant that we and most of the other diners were forced to eat...inside rather than on the terrace which has great views. There is no food menu nor wine list. We were simply asked (by an unfriendly Head Waiter) whether we wanted a 4 or 7 course tasting menu and whether we wanted fish or meat or a mix of both. When we asked what sort of fish would be served, we were told "fresh fish" and we we were unable to get any more details despite asking further questions. The Head Waiter insisted on doing all the talking with diners despite not being able to understand or speak much English even though there were several younger members of staff who spoke very good English. Of the 4 courses, two were mediocre, one was poor and one was horrible. When we asked what white wine was available, the Head Waiter barked one option at us which we had never heard of, although fortunately it did turn out to be a reasonable dry white. The inside of the restaurant has no ambience - scruffy wooden floor, strip lighting, peeling paint on the windows. Despite it being a Saturday night, the restaurant was only about 20% full so it seems that locals realise it has gone very downhill since being awarded its Michelin star and is bound to lose it at the next inspection. It was a highly disappointing evening.More
We recently had lunch here and it was overall a good experience. Let me start with saying that the drive to this hotel/restaurant is nothing short of spectacular and you end up at a magical place with views to die for. We were welcomed by...a friendly member of staff, who apologized for not being able to serve our lunch outside because of a strong wind. However, he did propose to us to have our rosé bubbles outside on a part of the terrace where we were somewhat sheltered from the strong breeze. The restaurant is quite big and spacious and the five of us were seated at a big round table with comfy chairs: excellent. We opted for the four course menu and asked for the wine list. In all honesty the waiter mentioned that this list was not up-to-date and would be renewed shortly. After browsing I decided to start with one of the two Croatian Chardonnay's, which was not available. Moreover, the second one was also not available so I asked for another Chardonnay. 'Sorry, we don't have one' was the answer. Wow! So we had a blended white he suggested being a wooded one. Our scampi starter was fantastic, which was followed by a very nice risotto with prawns. I asked about the main course, which was veal. Therefore, I decided to pick one of the two Croatian pinot noirs. Guess what?: not available and neither was the other one. Wow, wow, wow! I wonder how a Michelin inspector would respond to all this, but I was not impressed. So another red wine was proposed to us, which we chose. The main course was a miniature piece of veal, a table spoon of Celeriac puree, one carrot and three small pieces of Broccoli. I was not impressed. Dessert on the other hand was delicious, as I am fortunately a big chocolat lover. The place is fantastic, staff is friendly and correct, the food was ok to excellent. But overall four stars out of five is doing justice to my experience: good, but not greqt. And greatness is what I was hoping to for, and actually expected to find here.More
This restaurant has a very good reputation and it is one of the most recognizable in the county. However on day of our visit we were the only guests there and yet service was barely noticeable. No one has greeted us or welcomed us and...we set at the table located on terrace. After 2 minutes waitress came with an attitude and told us that we seate at a wrong table. Please bear in mind that was 4pm in summer time when most of the people still enjoy having fun on the beach. Anyhow we ordered 7 course menu and at the end after all dishes were served we ended up with empty stomachs. Terrace was swarming with wasps and bees and experience was horrible. Upon our request to do something about with annoying creatures waitress throwfew copper coins on table claiming that this will help? Guess what..it didn't help at all. Sevice was terrible, food was overpriced and mediocre, price was unforgettable. Do your research before booking with them, and if possible rather choose other option.More
The friend that recommended this place told me it was going to be an experience, not just a meal, and he was right! In short - we had an 8-course tasting menu. Each plate was delicious, creative, well balanced. Waiters at your service, in good...mood. I would say the only problem is the narrow road leading to the restaurant and the lack of parking spaces. Everything else was top notch.More
2 stars only because of the good food. The staff in the restaurant was extremely unfriendly and not willing to help. We were a group of 25 people and we all had the impression that the staff wants us out of the restaurant as soon...as possible. Not recommended untill they sort out the staff behaviour.More
Wow! This is for sure a restaurant worth of visiting! Atmosphere is so relaxing, feeling very comofortable, beautiful view and food marvelous! Since I am a sweet-tooth person, I would only suggest maybe to work more on desserts. Every time I was small sweet bites...were awesome but desserts didnt have like wow effect. Of course delicious, but I must say nothing spectaculous as for example rest of the dishes.More
Second time here. You can see different style of new chef but we liked it. We are coming back again. Highly recommended
To be quite honest, I cannot compare the food quality and the service with Michelin star restaurant in the island of Pag. Since I've been here before and I do remember how exquisite were the meals and how was the whole experince was organized. It's...not like that anymore. We were a party of six and went for 7 course degustation with wine pairing. Wine choice..not so great. Waiters were spiling wine every time when filling the glasses. This place has lost the touch they had before.More
