I was on a tour of Tibet and was in Shigatse for a couple of nights. On the first night, my tour companions and I went in search of something to eat and ended up here as was pretty close to our hotel. We were so happy to have found this place as the waiter spoke an astounding level of... More

My husband and I ate here one night while in Shigatse. The restaurant was near our hotel the Gesar.... I ordered Momo's however the staff spoke no English so the waiter called someone on the phone and he interpreted for us. The Momo's were good but my husband not realizing the cost ordered a leg of lamb and was shocked... More

Be warned; only the menu items that are sets for 7+ people starting with 300 yuan for a set that includes many dishes are translated to English. The rest is not; so if you go there as a couple, you won't really know what to order without a translator.

We've spent 15 days travelling through remote tibet and all I can say is thank God for this place. Food was so varied and delicious. Service was really prompt too. They also have nice beer! The decor is very cool and there's traditional music playing which is nice.

If you are looking for a relaxed night out in Shigatse with good food, some entertainment (yes, there is a small formation playing local music), then look no further... Shigatse Wordo Kitchen proved to live up to expectations... we enjoyed yak ribs and momos plus the home brewed beer... the best of it all, however, was a visit to the... More

I had the fortune of having dinner at this lovely restaurant, as recommended by our hotel. The food was local and delicious, and prices were very reasonable. We enjoyed yak stew and the vegetable dishes ordered. The lamb soup with radish was surprisingly good, without the gamey taste. Service was awesome, there's a really friendly guy there who speaks English... More

The place is nicely decorated, the food was OK but the service was rather rude. We had the yak ribs and lamb ribs plus some vegetables. The food came out one dish at a time but they could not bother to bring us plates or utensils until we finally asked for them. The staff did not seem happy to serve... More

We asked for momos and they gave us this, pretending they were momos. Probably this was the remaining part of someone else's shambalab bread. Nobody speaks English and nobody wants to be collaborative

We had one of our best nights out on a 3 week trip at this restaurant! The owner speaks perfect english, so really helped us ordering vegetarian dishes and was very friendly. Food was delicious, and accompanied by live (Tibetan) music. There were lots of other diners, so there was a great buzz to the place. After eating we went... More
