Visit for dinner. Can I give 10 starts instead of five to Chris Dupont and staff? I would . Ambiance old building, wood , marble counters, white music, tasteful. Food is I don’t have words... I am Chicago girl and a foody that place deserve...many Michelin stars. Loved half menu, had quell w cherries and some pork belly additions, die for...bartender lady is awesome , cocktails to perfection. Let me mention lavender homemade ice cream I don’t have words again... State of Alabama should be put on the map as home to Cafe DupontMore

It's been at least five years since I've traveled to Birmingham and eaten at Cafe Dupont but it was just as great as I remembered it. The staff was friendly, attentive and helpful, and the food was outstanding. We started with the fried okra and...oysters, had the redfish entrée and finished up with the excellent Baileys fudge ice cream. The staff stayed masked and the restaurant was spotless but oddly, as more guests came in they were often seated at tables close together (even with plenty of empty tables available) so if that concerns you, you may need to request a socially-distanced table.More

Excellent service, very nice restaurant, great food, friendly attentive staff! It was really loud and hard to hear our server or each other but I really recommend this restaurant. I know our server gave us her name but I could not hear it. She was...very nice though. We had the red snapper and the chicken and brother were excellent.More

We had a wonderful Valentine's evening at the Cafe Dupont. I had the red snapper as my meal and it was terrific. In fact, this was the best red snapper dinner I have ever had. The atmosphere was excellent. I will definitely make a return...trip to the Cafe Dupont.More

Nestled in the downtown streets of Birmingham is a staple of fine dining. I haven't dined here is a few years, but still a gem! A lot easier to get a table on short notice than the new trending spots in town. The food, drink,...and service is every bit on par with the best spots in Birmingham and that is saying a lot. My only suggestion is that a face lift on the interior might be in order. Still, white table cloths and candles are the norm, but the building is just a little tired. Do not let this scare you off. If you have not tried Cafe Dupont before, you will not be disappointed.More

My wife took me here for my birthday! Kelsey our waitress; she made night very pleasant! She made good recommendations and was very polite and friendly! The food was good, the meat cutters were polite. Looking for a different dining experience, this is the place!

This is a very nice restaurant and we enjoyed it very much. The fried green tomato appetizer was fabulous, and then I had the ribeye with a farm fresh egg over easy. Everything was great. The reason for only four stars is that it was...loud. At times we could barely hear our server. Other than that, it was a great evening.More

Arrived to the restaurant with a party of 9 and the lights were dim and soft music playing. A really nice ambiance. Greeted by the hostess and seated immediately. We were greeted immediately and the service began. Very classy restaurant and upscale and the crowd...was diverse and it felt very comfortable and welcoming. The food was great and so was the service. A little pricey but it was appropriate for the type of restaurant and service. I would definitely recommend and re-visit myself.More

We always receive great service at this quiet white tablecloth restaurant. The menu changes weekly and the food and presentation are always superb. This is our go-to restaurant in a city full of great restaurants.

They are fixe prix. As best I remember they are not paired with wines. We only had 3 courses and they were wonderful.
