Order was Mongolian Beef and Chicken Broccoli. As my wife put it, how do you make fried rice taste like this? The Mongolian Beef was mostly onions and very light on the beef. Similarly, the chicken was somewhat bland.

We had a lovely meal here. All our food was cooked nicely. Place was clean and we had a great time. I had sweet pea vines which I had never had before. I enjoyed them.
Having come from a disappointing experience at P.F. Chang's at The Summit, we still had an unfulfilled craving for Asian cuisine so we decided to give Black Pearl a try. We were welcomed warmly and given great service, which was marked by a pleasant attitude,...good manners, and patience. Our food was good--neither of us would rate our Kung Pao chicken or Curry chicken as great--and plentiful. The fried rice and egg rolls that accompanied our meals were hot and tasty. We will likely return and I am comfortable recommending Black Pearl Asian Cuisine.More
We waiting forever and there was only one waiter working. He was stretched far too thin and never go around to taking our order. We finally left.
Always a good option for dine-in our we prefer take-out. Be sure and try the Thai style beef rolls - just the right amount of spice. We like all dishes including the sesame chicken and drunken noodle. It is worth a visit.
We entered the restaurant for lunch recently. We came about 12:30 and most of the tables in the dining room were full. We took a seat in the lobby area and shortly after were told our table was ready. We were given large menus to...peruse and asked if we wanted to order beverages. We both ordered ice water. We decided on our lunch entrees. Lunch offers a good bargain as it includes an appetizer and fried rice. I ordered the beef and broccoli and sesame chicken and my wife had the beef and broccoli and honey chicken. We both ordered the spring rolls and fried rice. Our server was fast and efficient but not very hospitable. Possibly an English issue as it was hard to understand her. She also was very busy in the dining room, but service could have been enhanced with some basic hospitality. Food was good although our entrees could have been hotter in temperature. I noted that the plates the food was served on were cold which probably didn't help. Flavors were good. We both thought the spring rolls were excellent and the plum sauce served very good with the spring rolls. A review of their most recent health inspection on 12/18 showed they scored an 88 on their inspection. This does show that there are some issues needing attention to help reduce the risk of food borne illness.More
I love Thai food and am very familiar with it being spicy. I ordered the Anna & The King special. Waitress never discussed how hot I would like my dish. When she brought it I noticed a lot of red pepper flakes. Oh my gosh,...it was sooo hot it was inedible. My husband who ordered Panang curry had a nice, flavorful dish with some spice. Hubby tasted mine and said that is horrendous. So we shared his entree. I told the waitress and her response was Thai food is spicy. This was beyond spicy...not edible. Hot and sour soup special for 2 was very good. Disappointed in the lack of concern for a terrible dish...it had to be a mistake . Done...I will NEVER return.More
My family stopped in for dinner and have eaten her many times in past, but tonight was different. We got our menus and started placing our order and the waitress stopped and started telling us we could not order the same dish we had ordered...many times. We asked why and they said they could change nothing on the menu. So... then the meal came with an egg roll and that is what the menu said but the waitress said spring roll only. I said we wanted a egg roll and they said it did not come with this meal. I opened the menu and pointed to where is said it came an egg roll she said no it did not. She told me she was new and had to go by the menu so I pointed out it said egg roll and she rolled her eyes and walked off. We got our mean and it was ok but not like the previous owner. Something was different. We ate and then left. Well it did not take but about 15 min and my wife started having stomach pains. We later found out they started using MSG in their food. We will most likely not eat here again simply for the use of MSG. So sad this place has been good for a long time.More
Nothing fantastic, but good food. I ordered the egg rolls, fried rice and spicy chicken. Nothing special about the fried rice. The chicken was cut very small, which meant it was very crispy and had a lot of outside texture. Would have fathered larger piece,...but it was spicy and I enjoyed it. Service was fantastic, very attentive and friendly.More
Okay we're not on China Town, NYC but this restaurant came close. The food was served fresh and the portions were a good value. The service was also friendly and efficient. This was our first visit and we will definitely return again.
Excellent Asian foods, maybe the best one I've ever been to. The service is excellent, the price is very reasonable.
I had a great takeout lunch. I had the hot and sour soup and Salt & Pepper Fish. This is the first time I have tried something from their Traditional Chinese menu and I definitely recommend it. I will be ordering off this menu going...forward. The flavors are so much better than the American Chinese food. The Salt & Pepper Fish was very fresh and just the right spice, it included red and green peppers, jalapeno peppers, onions, and delicious lightly battered pieces of seasoned fish.More
After looking at the menu at Landry's we drove up the street to the Black Pearl for some affordable seafood. The restaurant looks like every other Chinese restaurant on the outside, but the place is large and there does not seem to be a buffet...anywhere in sight. The most interesting thing about this place is the "Hot Pot" of spicy and mild soup that you construct at your table. The giant bowl is divided into two separate containers and you can place all your favorite seafood or meat into it along with veggies and tofu. The end result is a large meal for two that is exactly as you make it. I have not seen this before anywhere and it is worth the visit just to experience this. The atmosphere is quiet and the music is better that usual, a mix of Chinese pop and traditional... The price was very reasonable and we will definitely come back for more. Overall, a really unique and tasty meal!More
Food below average. Beef was tough and a little too salty. Service average, but took forever to get check.
I took my GF here for dinner on a Sunday night with great hopes of finding another great Chinese restaurant near Homewood. While the menu is varied, the quality of the food is hit and miss. She had beef and broccoli which tasted a little...off and like warm fried rice. I went with two items off the Dim Sum menu and they tasted good. The egg fried rice, on the other hand, was very salty. Our waitress was very helpful navigating through the menu and provided quality service.More
