My husband and I, along with another couple, had a 3-course dinner meal here during Restaurant Week. The service staff was attentive and helpful in making suggestions for drinks and food. I had a Bibb lettuce salad with Cabot cheddar cheese, the sunburst trout with pink-eyed peas, rice pilaf and pickled pepper beurre blanc. The trout was perfectly cooked. For... More

Highlands and Frank Stitt have been an institution in the South for decades...James Beard winner, but that's just scratching the surface....excellent food, even better service! I like the Bar side, but the Dining Room is great too....just a bit more formal. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu and all the ingredients are sourced fresh and local. Definitely... More

Highlands has been so good, for so long, that's it's easy to take it for granted and become too distracted by whatever is new . And that's a mistake, because this is still the best restaurant in Birmingham . And besides, who else is known for The Orange Thing? Best cocktail in Birmingham .

Highlands bar and grill is by far the best dining experience in the United States. Besides having the freshest, locally sourced, seasonal cuisine ever consumed, the service is the absolute best I've ever encountered. The staff is pleasurable, knowledgable of everything they serve, and always present when needed. I always eat at the bar,and feel at home every time I sit... More

Our waiter was a font of knowledge, and gave us many excellent food suggestions. Service was impeccable. Food was delicious and portions were ample. My grandson, inducted into UAB dental school earlier that evening was really impressed saying, "This is a really great place." Valet parking was a big help.

After all this time Frank Stitt still gets it right. The fresh, local ingredient-based menu is just right. Simply the BEST!
